I saw that video, it was amazing, just how I wanted it! :biggrin.gif:
Thanks! At the moment the stuff I am making isn't to thrilling or revealing to watch. I think I will do a timelapse of the paintings when I have time for those, maybe armor skins too.
For now though I have another preview. This time the gui icons:
i like this pack :biggrin.gif: it's very shmexii. ill be usin' it a lot
the thing that made me :c about it is that the compass is empty (like doesnt show where the spawn area is). did i download it wrong or you're still fixing it :ohmy.gif:?
hahaha never mind. it wasn't till i got to water and saw MC patcher and asked what it was. i downloaded it nao and i got it all to work. its all so beautiful :')
I'm a beginning pixel artist and I was wondering how do you choose your color palettes? I think your style is brilliant. I noticed when I took a closer look at your textures that the shadows turn a purple, dark blue, or dark green color. I also noticed that most of your textures don't have very many colors at all . I think the sun and moon only have like four colors each but they look amazing. The same goes for the rest of your textures. The bricks for the menu background has to be my favorite. Mostly for how simple they look close up and how they still look so convincing.
I'm trying to make a texture pack of my own for practice. I want a style similar to yours but I don't like the way I'm going about it, though. Like my log, it has about eight colors. With the dithering it looks really busy. Not the look I originally set out for.
@dannyboy6896: Leostereo has a pretty good color guide. I'm not that great at coming up with palettes on my own, often I will look at other packs or pixel art to get a good sense of what to do. The "make your shadows purple" technique isn't bad, but it shouldn't be your steadfast rule. Think of of colors in terms of their temperature; Blue, Purple, and Green are cool colors, and Red, Yellow, Orange are warm colors. So once you pick a base color for your texture, pull the shadows gradually towards cold from the base color, and to warm for highlights.
You also need to take the saturation into account. Usually you'll want to become more saturated for shadows, and less for highlights. However if you want something to look matte or dry your shadows should become almost gray. And anything that you want shiny should have near black shadows and near white highlights, but try not to ever use pure black or white, or even pure grays. Everything should always have some color to it.
Again none of these are hard rules, but if you're unsure about something it's a good starting point. Also try to think outside the box for colors sometimes, my wood has a lot of purple in it, which is certainly not a normal wood color, but I think it works.
@Masasume: Yea I noticed the UI text, I wish there was a way to remove that. I might try and tweak the UI at some point to accommodate that. And I hope the endermen work well (are scary) I might add more eyes actually. I wanted the player to never be sure if they are looking at you or not, to add some suspense.
i love this texture pack, but for one thing, i don't like the smoothstone texture! it makes looking at ravines and large caves kind of an eyesore, and it makes finding things you mark with cobble hard... is there any way to use the default smothstone texture?>
For some reason I patch this in and my water says use MC patch. Well I did and it still says "Use MC Patch" so all my water says that. What am I doing wrong?
Possibly my favorite pack. I can't wait to see what you do with the armor sets.
One small gripe though;
Smooth stone blends in too well with Cobble stone to my eyes. Something about that smooth stone doesn't look smooth to me, heh. Maybe something to look into if enough people don't like it.

Curse PremiumOne thing with the UI, the text seems to blend in with the GUI for things like the workbench.
Also, just saw my first Enderman. Wow. The eyes. So many eyes. xD
Looking forward to seeing your armor! Hope it's as cool as the icons you've made for it.

I would just like to ask you what;s that slingshot ?
And why are there no pics for other armor but leather ?
Great stuff by the way !!!
I think the furnace UI needs fixed a little.
When the bow is fully charged, the arrow seems it is pulled too far back.
im just kidding, you're textures are amazing, and in a completely different class than mine, i do 16s.
blahblahblah,
tl;dr (not very long, anyways:)
amazing textures dude
Also i love the new changes :3
Everything seems very... pink tinted.
Is there a way/possibility you could change that?

This is a ****ing great texture pack, looks amazing, looks well on the eyes etc.
