You won't miss out on anything. That one you downloaded just has a few fixes in it that are ready to go for the 1.5 update but Levaunt had just forgotten to add them in the previous 1.4.7 updated pack.
Okay, The download was just from forever ago and I didn't know if she had added more things since then. Thanks ^^
She??? If you're referring to levaunt, he is not a woman. And I'd wait 'till next week when 1.5 comes out instead of using the 3rd party buxfix version, "
This snapshot spam will end soon, because we’re getting REALLY close now. We hope a pre-release will be out this week, but since we’ve had to bughunt for so long we need to push the official release until next week."
I have known about Derivation for a very long time, I mean like back when basically everything was tinged red and purple. ;3 When I started collecting texture packs again after a long break from MC, I figured I'd hit up an old favorite for funsies. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be practically a brand new pack!
I've always liked Derivation for its quirky charm. That has not changed. But this (new?) facelift has me in love with the pack all over again. It looks fantastic, even better than before. I greatly enjoy playing with it on.
Thank you for this gift to the community, Levaunt. Here's hoping Derivation stays updated as long as MC does, cos it'll always have a welcome place in my texpack folder. :')

Can't tell if trolling, or just posted in the wrong thread.

I know mob redesigns won the poll you set up, but do you have any plans for a wool update at some point after that? It's one of the few textures that Krawll and Jag ripped into in their review, and I can't say I disagree with 'em. Pretty much the only block type I actively avoid using in this pack (you even got me to use bricks a bit, and I've always hated that block)
Anyway, I know you said you wanted to take a bit of a break after this update, just tossing out something to think on.

Actually fixing old textures came first, with old mobs a very close second (in other words fix everything that is old). So wool is high on that list, I just haven't come up with a design yet.
I would have liked to have more new stuff in the next update, but I have spent the majority of my free time trying to get the pack to work with the new texture and ctm format. I'm trying to get everything working, but I'll likely miss some things, or there will be bugs. And yes I'm going to step back from the pack again and work on some other things. But I will come back to it, I am anxious to play around with the new patcher feature for biome and height specific textures.
Ah oops... I wonder why I thought mobs had won. Anyway, glad to hear that about the wool. This new format has to be a pain though. I know EmperorDoom has been upset with how un-optimized it is.
I've decided to post the 1.5 version, but only right here. Those of you who are anxious and follow this topic closely can give it a try. I mainly want to see if there are any glaring bugs or mistakes that I have missed, so I can fix them before the public release. So let me know what you think!
Mossy cobble wall (ctm/CTMOther/18.png) is still using the old cobble texture.
38 and 39 .png in CTMOther - are those alts for the RSD lamps? nvm - top ctm for the lamps, nice
27.png (CTMOther) old cobble texture - what is that being used for?
chest.png (item folder) has the trap chest interior instead of the gold coins.
Gold and Chain armor Icons need update to match skins
Wither skull (item) needs update to match Wither Skeleton texture
record_wait needs a color update so that it no longer uses the record_cat texture
wool texture update - just adding to the list so it's not forgotten
vine texture update - I think I remember you saying something about wanting to change it in the review video.
Ice texture update - Think you said in the review video you wanted to change that too.
not so much an issue rather than a personal irk - Redstone block face seems rather plastic like and doesn't feel like it fits with the rest of the pack.
these are things I noticed just from looking at the textures (without actually playing.) Hope it helps
After playing----
add CTM top for diamond block to be on bottom as well for use in ceilings
Mossy cobble wall is using normal mossy cobble block and its CTM vs the CTM for mossy cobble wall
weren't you going to do a ctm top/bottom for netherrack and quartz ore?
maybe do some CTM for the new emerald block?
CTM for gold and iron pressure plates
Hopper gui
CTM for redstone block top perhaps?
maybe something slight to the exterior of trapped chests as a warning for those who look?
beacon looks funky with the new glass texture.
Random ore CTM?
Blaze texture update
and even with the 1.5 beta mcpatcher fire and the portal have issues. it seems to be a vanilla texture issue from the change. I threw in some things I think would be nice to see just to give you some ideas to work on (maybe some for 1.5, others for 1.6?)
All in all, love the updated textures. looks great so far
Only found 3 issues with my (very quick) testing. The Nether portal graphic displays a missing texture error., fire does as well, but the actual fire graphic shows over the error message. And on Fast graphics, the gap in birch leaves are x-ray machines.
I may have messed up patching somehow, or used the wrong MC Patcher version, just wanted to get a quick look at the pack.
I just have to say, I'm loving The quartz blocks and the various other textures that can be mixed and matched with 'em. New cobbley looks nice, as do the new stone bricks. Kinda miss their old color, but they seem like they'll fit in with more stuff now. Not a fan of the new glass though though, just seems a bit... flat? Idk. Can't wait to see the portal animation, from what I can see in the textures folder, it's definitely unique. And I'll just end this chunk of text here now
Oh, and new font! Yay! Last one was a bit hard to read sometimes

You need to be using the beta release of McPatcher with minecraft 1.5 pre... If you're using optifine, that sucks for you. You will just have to wait XD

I used the beta MCPatcher, and got the same errors as EveryNameIWantIsTaken. On top of my graphics card apparently not liking 1.5 and having white edges on some blocks (especially water). That and low(er) frame rate... I'm hoping Optifine will save the day when it updates >_>
