Yea, I agree with this, I don't mind the lapis block personally but I think it could be a lot more interesting than it is now, especially since I've just seen what he's done with the emeralds, redstone and diamond blocks! Maybe it could be put on the list to be redone?
I like it the way it is, it's the best thing for floors imo.
Gosh, this is probably more deliberation than lapis deserves.
First off, the texture was made to be used in two ways. The top can be used as a tiled floor, and the sides as either pillars or accents on walls.
The top texture is supposed to look like that, the stone pieces are diamond shaped and popping up. I see what you mean about them though, could be more defined or just changed to be flat. I think, though, I'd rather leave it as it is and work on more widely used blocks.

lol
Just keep it as it is, like Sheep said lots of your new textures are amazing, especially the redstone block and diamond block, so I'd rather see new than redoing old ones.
Btw, I agree with the above, leave it and move on to better things.
But, since I'm not in the conversation and I'm a newbie to this particular thread, I'm going to give you my story, not that you'll read it.
I decided my texture pack was boring, just like the last few hundred, I eventually get bored. Last week or so, I found this popular thread. I checked it out. The front page and the fact that it was 32x and the strange title, all in one didn't seem promising until I did some digging...texture pack reviews. I was very impressed, I got it myself, I researched for several days, and now, I think I've got all the history on the pack in my memory.
You've heard this before, but don't stab yourself on your skills, you are quite gifted. I've been drawing and animating for years and I can't get anywhere close to what you can do, even with 16x. I honestly think Mojang should pay guys like you to make their textures better. This is only twice the quality. I've seen 512x texture packs look like dirt compared to this diamond.
I could not ask for a better texture pack or a better artist. However, I could ask for some better blocks.
I know you're working on new blocks, so don't worry about anything I say, just bear them in mind, later, when you're ready.
Cobble and lapis blocks. I know you've been thinking about them, but when you get around to it, these just feel like they're too light. Cobble feels too different from most of the pack. It feels brighter. Lapis is good, it's just the stone-ish part of the lapis is too different to match anything.
This might seem kind of stupid to say, but I'm trying to make it sound like I'm being kind, it's just my typing sometimes comes off a little different. I don't feel like smileys today.
Love the new blocks. Can't wait to try them. A bit concerned about emerald and lamps, but other than that, looks great.

I do definitely agree about that bit where the stone around the lapis doesn't really match anything. Even if you (Levaunt) plan on leaving it and moving onto other textures, quickly changing it to use the quartz colours or something wouldn't be bad!
Oh and just wondering, did you manage to get back the stuff like the new villagers and netherrack ctm from before your computer issues?
I like how the new diamond item looks unrefined. It's how a diamond should look after just picking it. I'm not too fond of the slime ball change but what ever. I actually like how the lapis block looks great for kitchen floors and such. I also like the new diamond block, the way it was before looked awkward as a block since it supposed to be a spiky diamond block. Can't wait for the update so I can use the new quartz block!
- Lapis Lazuli blocks arn't spectacular (although I've read about what you put about these blocks using them as pillars etc). I think they also need to be like a sort of sapphire-blue version of Nether Brick...or something to that effect without being too silvery if that makes sense?
- The new Quartz blocks are a little too dark/pale. I think they'd look better slightly brighter with a silvery sort of effect on them, but you've already talked about these blocks anyway.
The Lapiz block used to be some very cool blue bricks, but were updated to the pillars since the brick version didn't really go with anything. And the whole point of the quartz blocks being so dark is so they can be used in a lot more builds. If they were as bright and crystal-y as white quartz, you wouldn't be able to include them as accents to you your builds! They'd stand out way too much.
Quite the story, I appreciate these kinds of posts!
In one of my preview screenshots you can see the new cobble on the floor. The colors are about the same as the current one though. It's only a slightly brighter value than normal stone.
I may cave on the lapis and play around with styles more, I kind of liked the blue brick version.

That's a very good point. When I made the lapis, quartz wasn't even a thing.
I only have a rough draft of new villagers, they might come around after this update. As for netherack, I never had anything made, just an idea in my head. Based on the poll though, I won't add that or other CTM things for a little bit. Fixing old mobs is next!
Love the pack Levaunt (as I've said before) however, 3 small criticisms:
- Not a huge fan of the current Obsidian texture, it's a little pale for my taste and doesn't make for a good decor block. I personally think that you should redesign it to look darker, like the default Obsidian, but still adding your own touch to it.

Obsidian has gone through so many iterations. No one is ever pleased with what I make, so I've pretty much given up on it. Sorry!
Yes, see above about the Lapis.
As Kaidra just mentioned, the quartz is made to go with stone slabs and other blocks with light stone in them. However I am going to make all of these blocks slightly brighter. I doubt it will be very noticeable, though. The pack is supposed to have a dark medieval theme.

Awesome glass! I wouldn't have had all those squares though :/

Awesome!!! I don't think 1.5 will come out for a while, as there are still some serious issues. ex. Lag (Extreme), texture bugs, and such things...

Love the new glass!
It goes very well with the dark theme ~
And @Jaques22, same here. When I found out they were adding quartz, I was kinda hoping it would be a white marble texture, simply because I wanted to make a high elven city on my server. But I think what Levaunt has done goes much better with the pack over all. <3
I still have every version I've ever released. An alternate folder isn't a bad idea, I've purposefully saved a couple textures for something like that.
As 1.5 will bring a file-per-texture engine, an alternate texture folder could replace a customizer for those who keeps asking !
You do your release as its intended to be, and people who want to cutomize it will just have to replace manually the files form alternative to the right place. Everybody will be pleased, and will live happily ever after

Well, that's just slightly lazy imo, because all Levaunt would have to do with the 1.5 update is go to the folder with all the individual images, shift click all of them and hit upload in the customizer. BOOM insta-customizer.
I would do it myself if he doesn't want to, but I'd obviously need permission.
I'm assuming you mean the minecraft customizer website? I never liked that for many reasons, but the biggest of which is a lack of CTM support.
I can easily add a folder of alternate textures, and if needed some .properties files to go with them. However I am going to abide by the poll results and work on updated mobs next, and then more CTM.
I completely disagree with the guy at the very top of the page.
I really, REALLY enjoy how the glass looks! It's a huge improvement, and a nice style in any case.
I'm pretty dang excited for whenever this pack is updated! It's gonna be good.
