@TheMarsh: Wow, that's amazing. Thanks a bunch Lilyo!
@rabidsi: I've been planning for a bit on adding a lot of alternate textures and a customizer, so I will certainly take the ores into account with that. Getting ores to look correct inside stone has always been an issue with me, that's why I made a stone out of big rocks, so I could just replace one with an ore. But I think I could come up with an alternate.
I saw this pack quite a while ago, and wasn't a huge fan (though the SNES-RPG/Demoscene vibe was great, even then). Now, with the 2.3 update, it's pretty much my favorite pack.
A few points I'd like to note, though (on the technical side, not the personal side):
First, there's a very visible seam on the cobble - looks like one side was highlighted, while the adjoining side was shadowed. Makes for strange moire runs up walls.
Second, though not nearly as visible, is the seam on the smooth stone and ore, from 1px/2px shifts in the highlighting/shadowing from left to right.
Finally, a request (for when you get to doing the customization): can you make a smooth stone variant that's actually smooth stone? The whole shingle thing is the only honest gripe I've got with the whole pack.
Overall/TL;DR - great pack, love to use it! It's come a long way in the last month or so, and I'd bet it'll go even farther in the future.
Again, thank you for the comments, you guys are great!
@Leostereo: Sorry, I didn't miss it but forgot to reply! Part of the reason I changed the colors from the old version was because it didn't play well, so yes, I will probably add an alternate flavor or two for other playstyles. I always planned that from the start, but was changing textures so much it had to wait. I'd like to try and come up with something a bit different from Doku, but not sure what.
Also it's funny you mention the recording, I have recorded a time lapse of me making my 6-Hour challenge texture pack. Link here! So I could certainly do one for this pack. Not sure what I could do though, I am working on armor at the moment, and I am redoing a lot of stuff with those, not the easiest texture.
@Altecyrae: I have noticed the seams you mean, and I have gotten rid of them. They will be in the next update. And yes, I will try to make a smooth stone.
Also, I have an update on the pack. Among other additions and changes, I am trying (for the fourth time in the packs history) to make a good gui. The one I have now isn't bad, but it doesn't match the new direction for the pack. So here is a WIP on what I have now, and I'd like to hear people's thoughts on it. Though keep in mind it is a WIP.
The new inventory UI you posted looks great. Looking forward a lot to your next update.
And HeyImJonas, with MCPatcher, Minecraft has to be one of the easiest games to mod/fix once you learn how to do it =p
Also, I've found a rather odd issue. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the spider texture for me has become inverted (in color) I can't seem to figure out what is causing this. The only part of the spider that appears to be the correct color are the eyes and the area around them xD
Yeah, they changed how the game reads those transparent textures. I have it fixed. I wont have that update out for a few days, so if you want you can just throw this texture inside the mob folder in the zip. That should work.
I know Masasume, but the game isnt made for higher resolution then 16x16 (idk if anything has changed sins 1.8) so it dosnt achieve as high framerate as normal.. not that its lagging that much but i just like to have to run as smoothly as possible and not mess with the game files ^^

Actually the lag issue with higher resolutions comes more from the java script used itself. I believe the game is designed to cap out at around 200MB of RAM. There are actually a few ways you can increase that amount. If you're on a 32 bit system you can increase it up to 768MB, and if you're on a 64 bit system you can make it with as much RAM as your computer has xD. I run my Minecraft with 2048MB so I never have any lag issues with my high res texture packs.
I believe MCPatcher has a patch option in the Options tab to increase the ram heap size. I use a different method, but I believe they both work just as well. I don't know if you've ever used MCPatcher but it practically does everything for you in terms of messing with the game files =p

Yeah i tought so (about limits of the java script), and yes i have used the MCPatcher before but it lowers the fps a little even if its supposed to do what you say.. I might wanna look into the options but if it should adjust to my pc, well, i got 8GB of ram, so, i shouldnt get any lag xD
Thanks for the replay!
Edit: I use Dokucraft mini, its pretty awesome :tongue.gif:
For the inventory, you should do something like eld did where you always keep the bottom half the same and then change the top for the furnace, workbench, and chest to match the furnace(wood), chest(wood), and furnace(stone).
This pack is REALLY growing on me! I mean, wow, just wow, i mean there are rpg styled packs but an OLDSCHOOL rpg pack is amazing! There is nothing wrong with this texture pack (except of course the enderman and silverfish). :laugh.gif:
