Indeed, but you can't really summon someone nor punish him for doing so. Which court are you going to use?
There was a rule implemented a while ago stating that texture packs had to provide some sort of licensing/copyright status in their post. Some people wrote up their own, while others simply adopted existing licensing.
As far as I remember, when this rule was first implemented if your texture pack thread didn't have one it would be deleted. So mock him if you want, but it's mandatory to have something to cover the legal side, even if the artist didn't want to in the first place.
This also extends to beyond just Minecraft. I know I have had some issues with a commercialized game using my Minecraft textures before so it's never a bad thing to have some sort of legal protection, even if it seems silly.
The only thing texture packs can do is alter the colour of the map that gets revealed to resemble the colours of the textures.
Have you tried it with other packs?
The problem is in "mapicons.png"
Comparing version 1.4.6 to Derivation texturepack.
Well I have a fairly serious problem with my computer, and cannot use it till I can get it fixed. All I have is this horribly of date laptop, so I won't be able to do much of anything for a while.
I hope everyone elses christmas was better!

Well that stinks... I was going to tell you that the first slot in the trading gui is about 2 pixels off...

There's something weird about Birch wood planks. When you handle it, it looks like two small planks with edge, a new texture, but when you put it on ground, it looks like the old one. Where it gets weirder, if you had single blocks on your map before updating the pack, they will have the new texture... I don't think it was intentionnal. If needed, screens can be provided.

This is because the picture frame texture rips from the birch plank texture. To prevent the picture frame having ugly divisions in it, Levaunt has used CTM to make the birch plank look normal when placed, while having good looking picture frames.
Ok, I understand how it works, so I assume that pre-patch solo blocks will the have the skin used to make nice frames.
Levaunt, I don't know if your aware about this but here's how it actually works with your Birch wood :
In the inventory : Frame Looking
Single block on floor : Normal
Single slab : Normal
Two Slabs (making a full block) : Frame looking.
By expanding it, that means you can have 2 different textures for every block that uses slabs !!!
All 4 woods, Sandstone, Cobblestone, Bricks, Stone Bricks and Nether Bricks !
I know the pack isn't complete yet, and that you're working on something else, but you seem to like varying your textures, and that is an opportunity !

I was actually thinking of reverting the birch wood frame fix. Currently it will ruin the wood for anyone who doesn't use CTM, and as you mentioned it causes a problem with double slabs.
I see what you're getting at with having extra textures, but that could ruin the effect of some already built structures, or making new buidlings akward.
Levaunt, could I get permission to post only the texture addon on the official BTW forums?
It would be simpler to maintain and a lot more people would see it.
I would give a link to the mainpack in the post
And... Thank you for your great work!
Looking great! And yes you can post the textures there.

I thought about that too, I have some structures using slabs at top or bottom to give a certain look, but as Nether Slabs are a really recent change, it could be done on it and/or incoming half blocks.
About new textures "ruining" existing buildings, I would say that CTM already introduced that... I've got birch faces on houses, and I don't build in Stone anymore. Too much cracks on top, I don't like it as a floor, and I don't want the stone face on my walls. I really like it when exploring caves and these textures are awesome, but I'm not the only one who builds according to the texture pack.
When you'll get negative feedbacks about changing something, there's always the positive ones, focusing on the new possibilities.
And beyond that, we all know that a texture pack can be stopped one day, or we'll like another one better. Changing to another pack (forced or not) means adjusting structures. Minecraft is all about evolving and adapting. How many enchanting rooms have been remade after the halving of needed bookshelves ? And with 1.5, Redstone will have to be redone according to Mojang...
In conclusion, you're work is so amazing I don't think we'll flame against you when it comes to changes
Isn't that slime ball texture from Tales of Destiny?
Yes, along with the really lazy magma cream recolor. They were placeholders when I changed the style of the pack, and I just kept forgetting to make new ones. I'll be sure to get that into the next update, whenever that may be.
Just thought I'd throw an update on my situation. My CPU liquid cooler has essentially sprung a leak. Luckily it doesn't appear to have damaged any other components, so I'm going to replace it with a normal fan. Depending on shipping times I'll have everything up and running in a week, assuming that is the only problem.

great work
On a side note, I'm French, so I use special letters like é, è or à . I can't tell if all special characters are in that case, but these 3 are bigger than the font.
I'm gonna be keeping an eye on this. This interests me, greatly.
