The new Diamond Sword looks awesome. Is it just me, or do the GUI labels look a bit off center?
It's not just you, they are. I foolishly designed the label before checking the placement of the text, so the 'Inventory' one is way to the left. Not sure what I'll do about it yet.
I love the new gui, but that gold sword does look a bit droopy...
It's a cross between a scimitar and a kopesh. So it's supposed to be curved. I might add more highlight on the blade edge, as it seems a bit flat right now.
The GUI text needs to be white (I'm talking about the GUI titles)
and may I suggest animating the torch flame particle and not the torch itself?
Pretty sure it'll look much better
Y'know since flames don't have four sides
I have tried to change the font title color, but have yet to find a way. MCPatcher let's you adjust a lot of colors, but non of them worked. I haven't tried in a while so maybe it's been added. Although if I'm honest, I'd rather just remove the text entirely.
I also don't know how to change the particle to be animated. If that's possible I would gladly do it!

I see no difference except for the curve. I think the scimtar looks pretty cool
So, lately I've been getting into the FTB (Feed the Beast) modpack. And with my OCD, I won't be able to use this texture pack unless I retexture all the mods to fit with Derivation. Any tips on how to do this? I have been a Derivation user for a long time and am having a hard time letting go of it.

Well considering the amount of mods in there it would take a very long time, and most of them don't flow with the Minecraft theme (similar to Tekkit), so I will never touch it.
Best I can suggest is look for another 32x Pack that has support for this and goes alright with my pack. Or if you want to make the textures yourself you could try "Frankensteining" and/or recoloring textures to work in place of the mods textures.
I think he's asking what the best way to create textures in the style of Derivation is. I could be wrong though.
Pretty much this. Basically looking for a good starting point on texturing. I have 0 experience and will have to learn from step 1. The ores and such that are added by some of the mods I think I can come up with something. Pretty much just alter existing textures from Derivation to fit it. It's the stuff that I need to make from scratch (machines, pipes and such) that I'm gonna have problems with. I can cut and paste textures together to look ok, it's coming up with original stuff that's gonna kill me.

I totally understand why you won't texture it. I've just been playing around with it for a bit, and miss having Derivation. Been using JohnSmith (it has quite a bit of the mods done, but it just isn't Derivation....). Anyways, how the GUI coming? Can we expect an update soon? (I still play vanilla and can't wait for the update)
Just an update, I have captured a group of monkeys and senior citizens to press the refresh key over and over and tell me when Derivation updates, so I don't have to do it my self anymore.
Good texture pack but for some reason I lag while using it :/ Like all my other texture packs are fine even my 128x's but this one makes it jitter and its only a 32x
I'm still toiling away on the book, and some of the other GUIs. I also haven't even started on a few mob, terrain, and items changes that I would like to have for the next update. So I can't pinpoint an exact day for release, but it will be at least a few more weeks. And depending on when 1.5 is slated I might hold off until that comes out and include any new textures it brings. Sorry everyone waiting patiently!
Hopefully more previews will sate your appetite:

And that gold scimitar looks neat.
There's yet more to come!

Well done, that is everything! I guess you could also include the enchanting GUI, but only part of that is different from the others I've shown.

2. Texture them (or find someone to texture them) yourself.
That's the only really good way about doing this. :\

Like I said, I may tweak it a little.

Curse PremiumPretty much minecraft will have full HD texture support without a patcher.
Except no randomobs/CTM/probably custom colors without a mod. And even then, the mod API says no to clientside mods. >_>
