Working on mobs too. Not sure how much I need/should do before releasing another update. If I wait till I complete all items and mobs it will be another month long gap.
Zombie color isn't final, and there are a few errors on that version. I also plan to do multiple recolors for most mobs.
It all looks great! Except for the sheep's face-- he looks mad. I actually rather liked the face you gave the sheep in the previous verision, the one that had some white around it's nose.
I would do either all the tools or all the mobs, then release a smaller update sooner.

Yes, bird villager's are staying. I have some plans to make each one more distinct though, rather than just recolors. At the time the game only spawned one type of villager so I didn't try so hard with them.

Yes, most of the tools will be changed. I think I like the wooden ones the way they are though.
As for the next update, I think I will keep it to just items, then do mobs afterwards. So here is a preview of what I got done today:
Edit: Potion bottle looks a little weird here, works better on dark backgrounds.

I have some mixed feelings about the new terrain textures, some are a bit too dark, others don't seem as stylized as they used to be. But overall you've still got an amazingly beautiful pixel style. Those new items look amazing as well.

I agree it was darker than intended, I'm brightening it ever so slightly in the next update. However I have mostly abandoned the stylized look for a more realistic/RPG vibe.
I did notice that afterward, and on some other items. The previews are sometimes things I haven't touched up yet. I have been noticing it hard to get the edges of items to look right, without using a black outline like most packs. However I have tested everything against my GUI background color and they look fine.
Anyway, here's today's stuff. Tomorrow I think I might work on the tools, or at least iron and diamond ones.
Edit: Yeah that's the wrong apple, don't worry It's been fixed!
Levaunt you should really make a Youtube channel and do tutorials for textures and also do your own LP!
I've thought about tutorials before, that may happen. I don't know about an LP though, I don't think my play style is that interesting to watch. I mostly do creative mode building anyway.
I don't have a preview for today, decided to go see Prometheus and lounge around.
Dude those items are looking so good. I would only say that the arrowhead on that arrow should be slightly smaller and the diamond and emerald could be shinier.
The entire pack revamp is phenomenal, and I think that basically all criticism has already been addressed in this thread already.
The iron axe is the best I've ever seen- seems like a texture with personality.
A minor complaint: the diamond shovel looks more like a magic wand than a digging implement.

In testing out the new lava texture, I may have cut off my way out of my fortress. Looks great, anyways.
