Amazing Texture pack! 32x is my favourite size of texture packs because they have the detail but remain pixelated, this texture pack uses this to it's advantage wonderfully!
This one is going into my texture pack bookmark folder so I don't lose it.
My only gripe with this texture pack is the sand, it contrasts just a little too much.
This looks really good! It reminds me of splixelset. :smile.gif:
The only thing that bothers me is the diamond things. On the ore it looks a little pasted, if you know what I mean and the tools look a bit weird. Other than that it's amazing! :smile.gif: I really really like the color scheme you've used for it and you must be an amazing pixel artist.
Yea, it was a little experiment, but I think I will change it soon to a more traditional diamond. It seems like the common consensus is either distaste or indifference.
Also, I wonder how some famous packs like Dokucraft have been out for months but are not yet finished with many things and this comes out of nowhere with almost perfect textures and a lot of things retextured! :ohmy.gif: How long had you been working on this before you released it?
I was working on for about a week before showing it. But I named it Derivation for a reason, most of the stuff is heavily edited existing game art, and some not so heavily edited. I'm not great at starting from scratch, which I'm sure famous packs like Doku's are, so they take longer.
Wow that looks amazing. Did you make those textures or are they from a game?
There is a mix. Some I made using game tiles as reference and others heavily edited from game art. I tried to change everything enough so that it isn't just plagiarism, but some aren't edited enough as I'd like.
I'm working on a pretty big overhaul this weekend to make the textures more original, and add more detail and depth to everything.
Here is a preview of the current terrain. I'm actually drastically changing the feel of the pack, I want it to be more detailed. Not everything is changed yet, but almost all of them will be altered in some way. I'd like feedback on if I should continue down this path, or keep the pack the way it looks now.
Not complaining 'bout it, the pack does have good effort into it; Armors are too Maple Story for my taste... :tongue.gif:
Very nice quality edit to the 'Acid Bottle Creation Guide' by the way.
For the RO edits, it's not just the shape and form which gives it away, the palette is quite specific. lol
Like the scroll, looks familiar to me but was probably added after I stopped playing so much, has the distinct RO palette, but I can't put my finger on it.
Sorry for all of the image sources, I just nostalgia'd harder than I thought I would.
Yea, the items are the worst offense of slight or no editing on my part. I plan to change them as soon as I get down what style I want for the pack.
The Maple Story armors are complete placeholder. I want to make the armor graphics before I make the item sprites.

Go for it. The new textures you've thrown in look a lot better than the old ones, especially the ores.
Although I'd have to say I prefer the Lapis Lazuli block to look more like an embellished block rather than bricks or a rock, but that's just an opinion. I use them for display only, so I like them to look... "pretty". The sand is a bit on the dark side and I'm liking the lighter color you have here, and the pointing hand as the pointer throws me off a bit, but that's another personal thing.
Also, I just have to say, I love your pack. Something about it is halfway between RPG and... something else. It's hard to explain, but I love it. Not too RPG to be overwhelming. It's like a breath of fresh air.
GELATINOUS CUBES!
NEW FIRE!
NEW WOOL!
Also:
Added Boat texture.
Cool New TNT Barrel.
Changed Life, Armor, and Breath Icons.
Minor changes to Rain and Terrain.

I love it! Possibly one of the best texture packs ever made! :wink.gif:
