What I really like about this texture pack is the unique design and effort that was put into it. Each block and item was very thoroughly designed while still blending in with the pixelated Minecraft theme.
It makes the game feel like an actual RPG. The items are big and clunky which makes them stand out. I really like that. The blocks are also very nicely detailed. Nothing dull about them at all.
I would give this pack a 9/10. I've recommended this texture pack to several friends so far and they all enjoy it.
There are many things I like about this texture pack. Considering this texture pack is still being updated and is absolutely free to the public, there's not much to complain about.
But I do have a small review for the pack.
PROS:
- Detailed blocks. Colorful and noticeable blocks. They never get boring to look at and the material blocks are easy to spot while mining.
- Epic duck and nicely done cute animals. They're cute to look at and easy to notice so you can hunt them or just torment them. c:
- Monsters look cartoon-ish, but still give a sense of fear. They're all very detailed and look like they came right out of an anime RPG game.
- Items are big and clunky. Very noticeable and detailed. Easy to look at and notice while sorting. Compared to most texture packs which have very bland, small items which are hard to spot with a full inventory.
- Awesome interface and very beautiful moon/sun. Always nice to just watch them set and rise.
CONS:
- The wooden sword looks plain. A bamboo sword or wooden katana for an example would have looked nice in it's place.
- Diamond and gold weapons/tools look a bit too bland. While most items are colorful and neat, the weapons/tools aren't as colorful or detailed.
- Most of the animals look cute, but the Cow just looks kind of ugly.
- Zombie Pigmen Pirates while cute at first, they kind of just don't fit in with the rest of the Nether Mobs after a while.
That's about it. Me and the rest of my friends are waiting to see what will be coming next with this pack.
@deepblue: Yes thank you, I added the missing blocks.
@Frayfray: Hmm I'll look into that, I'm not sure how it could happen.
@Varuna: Wow thank you, never had a review. In response to the cons, I like the simple tools, since you see them more often than the other items. But I will surely make some alternates down the road. And all of the animals/mobs need some tweaks, which should happen soon.
And thank you everyone else for the support! I will post the 1.9 pre 2 update later today.
@leostereo: Really just practicing on anything, and gleaning stuff from other pixel art. I like to look at some other pieces and try to recreate it to figure out what techniques were used. And tutorials, lots of tutorials.
Also the update is out, earlier than I expected. I decided to hold off on editing the new inventory icons for buffs, since I don't have any idea what some of them are supposed to be.
The customizer isn't updated yet though, that I will get to later today.
This is so good, this is now one of my favorite texture packs! Thank you so much for making this!

Allow me to ask again - is there any chance of putting tools/items from version ~2.1 on the customiser?
When acquired through the customizer, rain is primarily composed of opaque sheets of blackness. This is amusing but inconvenient. Otherwise, I am fond of this texture pack.
I was wandering through a map I download, and the sandstone you have needs to have the borders between bricks toned down a bit and the crack on the top removed, that would make it more pleasing to the eyes.
@Balduran: I'm not sure they fit the new style I'm going for, but I could tweak them slightly and add them to the alts.
@Graphite Ninja: Yes I have heard the same from others. I think I may know how to fix it, but it's not exactly a problem on my end.
@Koitenshin: It's hard to get a balance for sandstone that works well in buildings and in nature, but I might make an alternate texture for it.
@deathnightwc3: Neither am I! It's still based on the packs old style, so it needs an update at some point. It's rather hard to make though so I will probably put it off. :tongue.gif:
@Everyone else: Thank you for the support and kind words. You guys keep me going!
Also a little update, I have played around in 1.9 Pre 3. I have some ideas for the new stuff, but the update might wait until 1.9 is out officially, I have a feeling some things may change from now to then.
I am also going to be gone for two weeks starting Oct 13th, so there will be an obvious lack up updates then.
This is a fantastic pack. The only thing keeping me from using it as my default, I'd say, is the Creeper. The creeper's face is just so iconic to Minecraft that I'm never crazy about custom creeper designs. I'd recommend adding an alternate for the customizer using the original iconic creeper face. Other than that, this is one of the best packs I've seen so far, keep up the good work :biggrin.gif:
