hi everybody, i'm pretty new to minecraft, and recently i decided to get some texture packs. i downloaded a few, compressed them, and im on a mac, so i put them in the appropriate folder for macs. i clicked on mods and texture packs in game, and the two i added were there, but they are all grayed out, and i can click on them, but they won't be in game, so i was just wondering if anyone could help me? they wont switch, idk if im doing something wrong or what

It's 1 of 2 things. Ether the zip file is missing something like a thumbnail or its an HD texture and you need to patch the game for them to work. But unfortunately there is no patch out yet for 1.6.4

well, where i downloaded them from, there were other people talking about how they used them and how great they were, and i downloaded from the same place, so if theirs works i dont see why mine wouldnt. what are some fixes i could try, for both one and two?
you probably did something wrong, no offense, but i recommend re downloading and starting again, this time do it step by step along with the instructions.
Wait why would you have to do that? When you download a texture pack you should just get a .zip file. Put that directly in your texture pack folder and run the patcher. If you meant you unzipped it by accident or to alter it, don't zip the folder. Shift click to select all the main folder's contents and then compress that.

i used that, and they still dont work, so i guess its not cus theyre hd
