Oh, that's a load of bullocks!
BillyTingle is just a little over-obsessed with the rules, sometimes.
Yeah. But there are worse ways a person could be.
By the way, Sandvich. It's worth a mention that the "r" of Birch in your sig at first glance can easily be mistaken for a t, which could be comical or tragic depending on your position. I got a little chuckle out of it.

This is so interesting. By adding the word Doku to the title of this forum topic, a word people easily recognize with regard to Minecraft texture packs, I saw a gradual increase in the number of downloads for my texture pack, even though I implicitly indicated in the same title that there is no Doku to be found here (there actually is in one 16x16 scaled and highly edited tile, but that's minimal and secondary to these findings).
A few hours later, after adding the words DokuCraft, Zelda, and JohnSmith to the title, also indicating clearly that those are not things that will be found here, I saw a massive spike in texture pack downloads, I expect also due in part to returned search results.
The increase in downloads proves my hypothesis, which was based around the idea that people would be more inclined to investigate further a texture pack they knew nothing about based simply on the addition of familiar words that invoke good feelings, even when it is made clear that said words are in no way associated with the texture pack in question. Technically, nothing about this test was amoral or dishonest as the intended audience was given a clear opportunity to understand that there should be no expectation to find any of the names listed with relation to the contents of this texture pack. It's comparable to advertising agencies putting pictures of women on things they would like men to purchase such as beer and cars.
Another thing I observed checking the progress intermittently was that most of the time, there was one member viewing the thread, myself, and several guests at a time also viewing the thread, which leads me to the secondary conclusion that a large number of the people viewing this site on a regular basis are unregistered passive observers, a fact I had not considered at any point and that I found to be somewhat surprising. I'd say it's a safe bet that many people visiting these forums on a day to day basis are fairly young and impulsive, so seeing the word Doku is to them similar to seeing candy sitting on a kitchen counter unclaimed by anyone else. In retrospect, I feel like the secondary conclusion is more significant than the primary, which pleases me. If nothing else, we'll call it market research.
It's july, Y U NO RELEASE MOD.
Also, does it switch seasons monthly as in real life or in Minecraft.
I just realized there may have been some confusion. In the first post, I said I wasn't going to release anything on the holidays until the first holiday in July. I wasn't referring to the holiday texture packs. Those have been completed since April and have been released since May. I was referring to media distribution, screenshots and videos of the holidays, that I will withhold until the date of the holidays, July being the Summer "Summer Vacation" Holiday. The holidays are not dependent on a media release and can even be manipulated to be previewed early if you're clever enough to figure it out.
The next holiday to expect is the Fall "Halloween" Holiday which will occur the month of October. Again, this holiday is available in the pack now, but will not be visible until October. Also, after one more month of summer, expect the leaves to begin to turn in September at the start of the Fall Season.
For the second question, upon further consideration, I believe it's possible that you may be asking if the season changes are biome dependent. They are not. Seasons affect all biomes the same with even the snowy biomes appearing in the summer as snowy mountain tops above more temperate climates and grassy biomes appearing as cold wastelands in the winter.
Leave credits in the original post. Have some ****ing decency.
I have decency in folds, ****ing and otherwise, and the credits don't matter if the file isn't downloaded. So, no, I can't agree. The requirement is that credits are provided and they are easily available, so I have met my burden of responsibility. I expect you in return to exercise some degree of civility and refrain from flaming posts. If you felt that was really worth saying, you should have kept it personal and sent me a PM. I won't discuss this further and any negative response will warrant a report for trolling.
I downloaded it, it's really awesome and amazing, but it's summer here, but its still winter in Minecraft, does it follow only one location on earth?
It does follow only one geographic location on the launcher included, but I've also included several other launchers for people who live in other places. Since your actual geographic home is currently in summer time, you're northern hemisphere and I'm willing to bet you don't live in North America if your Minecraft is showing Winter. In your country, is today's date format 7-13-2011, 13-7-2011, or 2011-7-13? Your system clock should be able to tell you if you're not sure. Once you figure out what date format you have, find the corresponding launcher in the zip file and extract it to the folder with the rest of your ABNW files. You can delete the original launcher and rename the new one if you'd like.
I've been working on automating this process for a while, but it requires a complex series of statements and variables to make sure it selects the right one and I haven't gotten all the bugs worked out yet.

Just to elaborate a little bit in case anyone else is following this, LazyGrime is northern hemisphere and his country's date formate is day, then month, then year, so he uses the launcher called N-DMY_WindowsLauncher.exe from the download.

ABNW 1.7v3 is released today. This isn't really an essential update if you don't feel like making the effort. The only changes are a few item transparency issues that were corrected and a new planks texture has been added.
I stayed with the original Minecraft planks for the longest time because I've always felt they looked good and didn't need improvement. However, recent updates have added new planks-including items that have begun to show flaws in the design of the original planks (hatches, pistons) because my new designs have a warmer, more appealing aesthetic compared against the original texture. The result is a modification of the original which maintains similar design elements while making better use of available space for simulating actual wooden planks in various Minecraft building and use applications.

Midnight tonight marks the one week countdown for the Summer Holiday. If you haven't started using this texture pack, you've got 7 days remaining after today to enjoy the Summer Holiday. After that, we move back in to the regular Summer Season and then the rotation will move in to Fall Season the following month.
Just a reminder to new people, you don't have to redownload anything with this pack. The pack already has all seasons and holidays included. Of course, pending updates to Minecraft and occasional updates to the game in general, there are updates to the pack made available, but in terms of the seasonal rotation, this process is automated under the launcher and requires no additional downloading or updating.

As of today, we're back to the Summer Season. Hope everyone enjoyed the Summer Vacation! I got very little feedback, but I assume that's because people were either playing or actually taking vacation.

It's come to my attention today that many people don't even understand what this mod/texture pack does. How can that be? Are there too many big words in the title?

But I must say, I love the concept. I wonder if other modders will take note...hmmmm?

Worked!
Good! I'm glad.
