Since the texture rotation is built off of the launcher and the launcher could be considered a modification or tool, perhaps moving the thread to another section would be a good solution to your concerns. What do you think?
I think this should stay here, as its only use is related to texturepacks.
Much like the hd-patcher.
Okay, I genuinely don't mean to be rude or to butt in here, but I would like to sort of re-ask a question: what is the state of your permissions? You haven't ever been specific about it, and I'm curious.
My permissions are solid but have been picked up haphazardly over a long period of time. Also, I do make mistakes from time to time. For instance, I could have sworn I contacted Trilobite about borrowing a texture from NorseCraft, but apparently I was wrong. I do recall sending a request, but it must have not received a response and then I suppose I accidentally made a mental association with another confirmation and created a malformed memory based around the request for permission. However, when the issue was addressed, I made a correction immediately, so a case can't be made that I bear any ill intent toward other authors.
If you're looking for direct conversation excerpts, I can't do that. Some communications were under a different forum handle for which I forgot the password, the reset password function wasn't behaving properly at the time, and so I gave up and created a new account. Also, some conversations took place over direct SMP chat, so those are simply gone. Early on, I never realized I would need a quotable transcript and I hadn't really even considered publishing my pack yet, so it never crossed my mind to even take a screenshot of a conversation. I'm really sorry about that, but this thing has been a long running WIP and I can't change the past.
If you'd like me to go through my credits file and directly reference each texture used, no matter how big or small a contribution, I can do that. Early on, I hadn't considered it, so the file grew for a while before it even crossed my mind. I don't really have time to do something like that, but I could eventually complete such a task.
I understand that many people despise collaborative efforts and consider them unoriginal, but again I will point out that Rhodox's Painterly has a great deal of other author's work listed as alternates, so I'm wondering where one might draw the distinction between who is and isn't acceptable to borrow other author's textures with permission. All Rhodox provides is the name of the original author, although I'll admit he's more specific than myself about which textures come from where and, as aforementioned, this is an issue I'm willing to address.
I guess what I really need to know is what you're looking for. I'd you'd like me to have all of my sources post on this thread that they gave me permission, I don't think I'd be down with that because it would not only be rude and intrusive, but also a huge waste of their time since they've already approved my use of their textures.
If you have some evidence of another mistake I've made, just say so and I'll fix it. Otherwise, clarify your point or just leave it alone. If you don't like my pack and wish it wasn't on these forums, I'm one step ahead of you. I've come up against such strong resistance that I really don't feel incredibly welcome in this section of the community and most of my downloads come from elsewhere, so I really don't need these forums. Posting here was just a formality to share with the community here, but if you really want me to leave, I've got a domain and my pack is listed for download several other places, so if you're asking me to shove off, I'll gladly pick up and leave.
Also, if you're not attempting to pester me off these forums, would you mind explaining the Multiquote function to me? I haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks.
Okay, I'm going to start by saying I did not read your whole post, as I found it unnecessary; I just wanted to make sure, and a simple yes would have been enough, really. There's nothing suspect here, and you seem to have done your best; I was just curious.

Thanks for your understanding response, Billy. I've been heckled quite a bit lately and it's taken a toll.
I did pose a question at the end of my post that warrants investigation. Have you figured out how the MultiQuote function works yet? I haven't gotten it to work for me thus far.

Check multiquote on the posts you want to quote and use the 'add reply' button on the top or bottom right of the thread.

My guess would be that they get a lot of submissions, and include the textures they like.

@Poll Topic, the issue in question has been resolved and I have no actual intention of leaving MinecraftForum.net, but I find the results entertaining, so I'll leave it up for entertainment's sake. Also, there's an old expression that says there's no such thing as bad press.

Happy summer holiday!
To those of you who have upgraded to the new version, expect the texture packs to be updated and a new link posted in the next 24-36 hours.
I've been incredibly busy and haven't finished work on the summer season promo video. I'm looking for actors to appear as surfers for a scene in the video. I also need a good server where we can build a wave pool. Contact me if you're interested.
Here's a little log of changes and improvements:
Improved 1st person map graphic.
Added shears/clippers.
Added in-use fishing rod.
Added a better spider web.
Piston and sticky piston textures.
Holiday specific sticky pistons.
Fixed adjusted cake and bed textures.
Improved hatch texture to add hinges, handle, and portal.
Improved all wild wheat.
Moved wild grass textures to wildgrass.png until wild grass is updated.
I've also contacted CharlieCraft about borrowing their squid texture. Currently, we've got a Cthulhu squid for the summer season, but CharlieCraft's cuttlefish might be a better fit for the summer holiday. It almost looks like a nautilus sans shell. If added, I'll probably push out that change with the Wild Grass update.
It's july, Y U NO RELEASE MOD.
Also, does it switch seasons monthly as in real life or in Minecraft.
SPIKEOF2010, Y U NO READ? No offense taken; just providing an appropriate response. It's been released for quite a while now. If there's some confusion about downloading or running the mod, try to elaborate and I'll help you through it. Here's the most recent download link.
As far as the seasonal rotation goes, here's an excerpt from the first post providing a breakdown of the rotation schedule.
Calendar system (inverted if you’re southern hemisphere):
Jan - Winter Season
Feb - Spring Holiday
Mar - Spring Season
Apr - Spring Season
May - Summer Season
Jun - Summer Season
Jul - Summer Holiday
Aug - Summer Season
Sep - Fall Season
Oct - Fall Holiday
Nov - Fall Season
Dec - Winter Holiday
I have to say, this is a wonderful texture pack! I`ve never seen one that changes with the seasons, so I really enjoy it. Keep it up!
I'm really glad you like it and I appreciate your reaction and encouragement! Feel free to stop by again and post a follow-up after you've played with it for a while. Thanks for playing!
A couple of small changes, mainly added WildGrass back to the terrain file in the new location. Various other changes that will impact seasons and holidays in the near future.
Also, I'm trying to work with EJHopkins to find a more permanent solution to Wild Grass texture locations with relation to future updates. I'm anticipating 1.8 will make futher use of the terrain file restrictive, so I'm hoping we can figure something out before then. I know it's possible, but it's been a while since I've worked in java, about 6 months. We'll see.
I did some preliminary testing with the cuttlefish from Charliecraft in the summer holiday and it actually didn't fit in as well as I'd hoped it would, so I've given up on that and settled back on the cthulhu squids.
Back to the topic of mod support, I'm going to update the poll to try to get some feedback on mod interest. Check it out and give feedback.
Looks great, I would like to see some screens of in-game shots and the block preview world in the first post.
There is a gallery if you click on media showcase in the first post. Are you referring to that with regard to the preview world or are you referring to the world used in the seasons video? The preview world is just the standard showcase that everyone uses called texture pack test track or something to that effect. I'll see if I can find it and provide a link. Of course, the section featuring changes in foliage was built as an aside specifically to shoe the distinction between seasons in my pack. The other map used is my personal world that I've been working in since very early alpha, pre SMP.

I'll be a son of a gun. Since they added the fast reply box, I forgot all about the add reply button. So it's that easy. Thanks, MikeJones.
