Seems the only packs around here right now are crappy minimalist/simplified packs that are mostly flat colors.

I disagree. The reason is the gigantic amount of changes that break compatibility every single day.

I might have a good new though, I'm having a server and one of our builders is creating a few textures based on SMP Revival. If he does a good job, I'll post it here. Eventually, we might take this resourcepack over.

But the recent changes have only been breaking mods, not resource packs. The last big update to resource packs was a while ago, and most have updated to the new format. R.I.P. terrain.png

Never said it broke resourcepacks per se.

I said it broke "compatibilities". Last breakage was for the connected textures. SMP Revival actually used them a lot, like DokuCraft Creative, and assigned different textures to different sub-ids of blocks. Now, 1.8 broke that, and that might be why it's not being updated anymore. Because there's no way -yet- to get the same functionality.

I see, I guess that makes sense.

But I'd hope at least some base textures would get released, or even a status update. Kinda sucks being in the dark.

So why not simply using a lighter resourcepack ?

Can anyone give me a link to download a proper 1.7 version of this resource pack? The two that were posted earlier have expired and I neeeeed to use this pack again.

anyone know why this doesnt work anymore? i've set my minecraft back a few updates and still doesnt work

are there only supposed to be like 33 files in the blocks folder? am I missing something?

Does anyone know if this will ever get a 1.9 version?
Because unlike past versions I can't apply it to the game with an outdated version without it going all derpy one me.

I am attempting to contact SMP to get permission to update his pack and distribute said Revived Revival. Now in any case he does say yes, would any one on here be willing to help, meaning you have the knowledge and power to assist (can operate Gimp/Photoshop, know how to code CTM stuff, etc....)

I have already updated the creative inventory screen a little, not the best but it works. Nevertheless I do not have all the skillpower to make this happen and I will need help.

More than likely he will simply say yes, as long as we Credit him fully, which I will do. I am looking for help is all.

I really would love to see this happen.
Sadly I have no skill in pixel art otherwise I'd have helped out in a heartbeat.
Regular art I can do, just not pixel.

I can spread word of mouth though.
If you get the greenlight to go I'll try my best to let people know.

Okay, I got the green light to start resuscitation on Revival.

So, I've done my best getting the word out.
That's all I can do though. ;-;

So, I wanted to be able to give more other than derpy shoutouts.
I learned how to make the models for 3D packs, though don't expect anything at the level of Conquest I can make the classic blocky looking ones.
Like if you want the books in bookshelves to pop out I can do that.

I know it won't help with updating the 1.9 textures, but I can at least add something to the pack if you'd like.
