The file with the 1.8 textures only has the blocks. The items folder has the 1.8 item textures in it, but they're all the default textures. I think you may have forgotten to replace them with the new 1.8 Revival items.
There is none. The only ones that existed were from SMP himself, but he took those down in place of the 1.8 textures. He then went on to say to people "Just run it over the regular Revival.zip for now." When some people, namely newcomers, did not have the regular Revival.zip. And he provided no link for the regular Revival.zip. So now everyone has the new 1.8 item/block textures, but none of the other textures.
So yeah, that's the situation. Love your Texture Pack, SMP, but you really didn't think this through.

It's okay, just try to pay attention
Also don't use dropbox, as a single link that's over-used can lock your entire account. Use mediafire for those kind of things, it's reliable, free for uploader and downloader, and fast for everyone too
That's not what I mean. I understand that you add the 1.8 addition on top of the 1.7 pack. Problem is- the 1.8 'patch' only has the blocks; all the items are the default minecraft textures.
SMP has alway only supported the most recent release, only on his site. I think this release may have be a slightly rushed upload.
May have been?
I think, even if somebody's only ever supported the most recent release in the past, it'd only be appropriate to support the old version for such an incomplete version such as that.
How to turn off connected texture?
When you start MC-patcher and go to options there is a connected texture line. When I set it to OFF nothing changed. I still have connected textures.
Also why the quartz block look like this:
I checked in the texture folder in the resource pack and I saw it is supposed to look different.
Everything else is great. Love the resource pack!

That's because you're placing quartz blocks with ID 155:15, instead of 155:0
Replace all those blocks (with worldedit for example) with id 155:0 and they look like they should.
Also, I recommend using "CreaTruthBlocks" if you're going to build with resourcepacks that have different textures on different DataID of some blocks.

Thank me later.
Hi NcGYBer,
nice to see you here

Edit: never mind, didn't see your tweet
But SMP also never claimed he wouldn't be supporting his 1.7 version anymore so people could still have all the textures.
In a related note: Strange silence from SMP...

Pretty awesome plugin.
All my favorite texture packs are essentially dead. It's depressing.
