For any of you suffering from SMP withdrawal symptoms, I have created some emergency 1.2.4 textures to tide you over until SMP gets done with whatever he's doing.

Looks good! Did you create it by hand? Or was it by another Texture Pack? Because it looks like it belongs.
I really got sick of the default Iron Golem skin and since nobody has yet attempted to make one that will work with this pack I gave it a shot. Hopefully this will hold people down till SMP comes around and updates this incredible pack. Just place this image in the mobs folder. I based this Golem somewhat off of SMP's iron armor set and went from there turning the Golem into a magical animated set of armor.
I'm not typically the kind of person who uses realistic texture packs but I also somewhat dislike the texture packs that are too unrealistic.
I was always searching for the happy medium between the two, until I found this texture pack a few weeks before Minecraft updated.
So while I do not wish to rush or pressure you, know that if and or when you update this texture pack it will bring me a great deal of joy.
But for the time being I suppose I will use the emergency SMP texture your fans have made.

Good, we got enough demonic creatures to destroy the world in no time at all, lets wait a few years.
I feel bad about taking so long to finish this update, so here's a WIP of what I have so far so you guys can use the textures. A few old textures got some reworks that aren't final yet (sandstone and stone bricks) so you may want to put the old ones in for now.

Just wanted to say this is a really good fan update, and your wood options inspired me to make mine more than just recolored planks
edit: Testing a possibly final version of this update.
I know it wasn't your intention, but your pack has made me develop some severe OCD when it comes to having mods match your textures. I spend more time trying to make everything look (but, never as good) like your pixel magic. Awesome work as always, SMP. Can't wait to see your take on cats and golems!

It's good to hear from you SMP and thank you for this amazing artwork!
Can you add support for the oldchest in the terrain.png when you release the 1.2.4 version? cause I'm using the original chest mod. I have seen many texture packs lacking such a crucial component.

I was the same way with mods, that's why I spent so long making textures for the yogbox/technic. Eventually it just became too much.

I didn't know that texture was used anymore. I'll put it back.
SMP, as long as you don't change the cobblestone texture, your texture pack will remain the best.
The only thing I don't really like has to be the armor helmets, as you have made them to work with the base Steve head, but it isn't that good if you have a skin with his eyes higher up or lower down, or for a skin that has bigger eyes than just 2 along.
I realized this, but I think the vast majority of skins use the default eye placement.
Thank you very much.

Bit of both, I guess. It was SMP's default wood edited to look like the new types and given a sort of individual style.

I noticed this too, and I think it's because of the MCPatcher. I had a friend with an unmodded .jar try it out and it worked fine for him.
