What's wrong with it? I purposely left it blank because I couldn't stand the overlay.
It's just that it looks weird when I'm not in an ocean. I have no other complaints. :biggrin.gif: P.S. What does SMP stand for? Besides Survival-Multi-Player.
I like to mess around on the snapshots once in a while, but I will not use the default texture pack when I do so. I will deal with the missing textures for now, as I love this texture pack too much. As there are a few posters who are giving their complaints, I thought I'd remind you how much we actually appreciate this pack you've made. Thanks again.
So, I used to use this texture pack all the time before I stopped playing MineCraft.. but I recently been aching to play, so naturally downloaded the new version of this texture pack.
Problem is, it crashes my MineCraft. It'll get stuck on "Saving Chunks" for awhile, and then go to a black screen; which forces me to exit out of MineCraft.. and it corrupts my saves. Oddly enough, after I the first time I did this, I checked out a few other texture packs and they weren't working - same problem. Then, I reverted back to Doku, which was previously working (I was using it before I put on SMPs, literally right before), and it wasn't working. I had to redownload MineCraft and start fresh again.
I'm using McPatcher, and ZERO mods. Clean save; I use McPatcher, put on this texture pack.. and it crashes. I know it "loads", because when I select the texture pack, the UI on the main menu changes to SMPs.
Help.
EDIT - Literally 1 minute after I made this post, I solved it. McPatcher's new feature, Custom Colors, was causing the problem.
I'll.. leave this post here in case someone else is having the problem. Now I can finally enjoy SMP!
All these textures were most likely made with painterly, i just made a painterly pack and every texture you used I saw, and that can't be a coincedence, if your gonna do that at least give them credit man, you probably didnt even edit anything.
No.

I looked back a few pages and didn't find anything about this, but is there a way to remove the custom fog? I have to have my fog somewhat high and I don't like being surrounded by green all the time... (If I missed anything on the OP, or if I didn't go back enough pages to a discussion about this, please excuse my noobishness)
EDIT: Nevermind. I looked around, found and deleted fogcolor0.png
Hey, I really like the texturepack, I'll probably check it out in-game soon. But, I was wondering if you still had your old SMP's Realistic laying around somewhere. I really loved that pack, and I'd be grateful if you reuploaded it (or even just the items.png) I don't mind if it's outdated, I could probably edit in what I want into the default or this pack.
(Assuming that last part is okay with you ^^ )
Tip: When 1.2 comes out, you might want to use the current glowstone textures for the redstone lamps. Then, make a faithful glowstone texture. Although, I see where that might backfire.

This is exactly what I've done. I can't say I really like the natural glowstone but I don't see another way.

For anyone else bothered by the still-glitchy graphics on chests, I made my own fixed versions:
Copy and paste these into the /item/ subfolder of the texture pack and it should stop the flickering border that's popped up on closed chests since 1.9.
EDIT: Looks like I was beaten to it actually, probably should have checked a few more pages back. Still, it'd be nice if the issue were fixed in the official pack.

Some people place a half-slab on top of the glowstone block and trapdoors on the four sides to simulate a "lamp." Thus, you can barely see the actual glowstone beneath it all. Some of us who use this design will be fine with whatever you give us.

Do you mind if I use these for the official pack? I still don't really understand what causes the glitches.

The bottom of the lid and top of the actual chest need to have the exact same texture down to the pixel. If you look at it, it's like they're overlapping, and unless each pixel is the same color, it'll cause the rendering glitch.

Not sure if blind
or just trolling.
