Texture packs? Oh for that game....mine smash or something right? I'm afraid you've come to the wrong forum.
This is actually a Babylon5 newsgroup.
Nah I kid, of course. You can actually find the texture packs folder QUITE easily. Even a dummy like me can do it and I'm quite the dummy. QUITE.
HERE IS HOW TO MANUALLY GET A TEXTURE PACK WORKING OUTSIDE OF THE GAME:
1.) click on START in the bottom left hand corner of windows. If you don't use windows, you're screwed. And I apologize that you are a heathen.
2.) click RUN. It should be right at the bottom. If there is a white rectangle you can type into at the bottom of the start menu, then you don't need to click Run. Clicking Run usually opens that.
3.) THIS IS IMPORTANT. Type %appdata% into that rectangle. Hit ENTER. Wait patiently for a moment.
4.) You should now see a long list of horsecrap that won't help except one thing. There should now be a folder called MINECRAFT sitting amongst the horsecrap.
5.) click the MINECRAFT folder
6.) click the texture packs folder
7.) copy and paste the texture pack you want from wherever you have it saved, and paste it into this texture packs folder.
8.) close the folder
9.) start minecraft. go to texture packs. The pack you pasted in, is now on the list.

13.) die repeatedly to spiders and creepers
And that's all there is to it!

Curse PremiumBabylon 5 was such a classic show :tongue.gif:
OT: It's crashing because you're trying to use a HD pack without patching the game first....
Probably...
