Ok, so im trying to figure out how to install my own bump maps but im not sure how to create the shader files so it will recognize the maps. Anyone know anything about how to do it?
you need dax nitro's glsl mod with bumpmapping shaders. I have a nice set of them on my main download link. as far as the files go.. you need a terrain_nh.png which is the combined normal/height map... and a terrain_s.png which is the specularity map. (you can just use a greyscale of terrain and darken it to work)
psshht.. everyone has a life in minecraft haha. I just tried to run the game but it hangs at the "Loading done" screen. Not sure if i did it correctly. I have a program that creates normal maps automatically but im not sure if that includes a heightmap. if i got them seperately how would i combine them? would merging them in photoshop work?
if you want more detailed info, ask there (since I need to do a tut anyway for the site :tongue.gif:)
edit: and for the not working... best to start with a fresh minecraft install.. use mcpatcher first, then modloader(if you use mods), and then run glsl installer before adding anything else.
edit 2: the height map is the diffuse map.. basically a greyscale of the image with the low parts darkened and the high parts lightened.
