I just had this idea an hour ago. So i thought "Hmm, lets go to the forums to see if someone is already making it..." and I found your post. Yours looks awesome, good luck man :biggrin.gif:
Sorry for the double post.
I uploaded a 64x version of the pack, which should look just like the 128x one just not that sharp and crispy yet looking much better than the Default textures .
EDIT: 256x available now too :smile.gif: (couldn't test it ... Minecraft crashes when I try to use 256x packs :laugh.gif: )
Adding the same filter to almost every block does not make for a good texture pack, especially when it's upscaled from the basic defaults.
This is hardly a continuation of the improved defaults; look at Faithful for example. That actually gives further definition to the default textures, where this is just a grainy filter on every block that makes things darker + very noisy.
Updated (testing): Completely overhauled the terrain.png, which fixes the contrast, saturation and greatly enhances the detail by using normalmaps that are 8x bigger than the old ones. The terrain is now completely made in 256x so it's not an upscaled 128x version. The screenshots are outdated. Hope you like it, if not I might go back to the old textures.
Hey, I've got a question for you.
Would you mind if I used this pack as some sort of a "Template" for my own texture pack?
I'll try to change everything, so I won't copy stuff you made for my own, but I'll only use it for a template :smile.gif:.
Or maybe only the font. Would you mind if I used your font in my pack? Rest will be changed.
Oh, and you and this thread will ofcourse get credits if you allow me to.
You can use anything you want.
Go ahead, and make a great texture pack :smile.gif:
Just wanted to say that this pack is awesome for those days when I feel like a little nostalgic Minecraft feel, but don't want my eyes to bleed either.
I dont get it. what's different? the main menu changes but everything else is still the same. I used the latest mcpatcher and stuff. all i get is a prettier main menu.

If you look at it up close, it's easier to tell the difference. They made it to look like the normal Minecraft by keeping the typical 16x16 feel, but each individual block within the 16x16 look is made up of more blocks. So each block has more depth. Up close, you can definitely see how the lighter parts pop out to give the illusion of elevation instead of flatness. From afar, things still look Minecrafty though (which is fine, I just got a headache every time I would zoom in on vanilla textures. This makes it bearable).

Fixed.
so it looks just as bad and pixelated as the default textures, but its a grainy, high resolution now?
wow, truly good job.
edit: meh, sorry for being an ass. while i dont see the point in it, its good work.
Haha, and I wondered why the 64x had no downloads. Thanks!

I notice quite a bit more detail.
