This is more or less the same as the normal default Minecraft textures. And I prefer the default textures to this one because I got confused because there was hell a lot of lag when I was using this one and thought I was using the default one and I was like, WOAH, LAG SPIKE!' Then I realized I was using this one and I exited Minecraft and deleted this texture pack

Amazing Texture Pack! I love vanilla based textures, and it's nice to see one that works with 1.2.5
However, I am having one problem. With the new sandstone, not all blocks are using the "HD" texture, and some seem to be using default. However, I suppose this could be a bug in the patcher (Optifine) that is causing it to use some default textures.
Doesn't contain textures for any mods (e.g. Random Mobs)
Hello Minecraft community,
this is my first texture pack. I'm working and updating it since May 2011. It's basically the default or 'Vanilla' Minecraft texture pack resized to 256x256 pixels.
It retextures almost everything and is frequently updated.
You probably won't see any difference to the default textures until you're close up to the blocks.
To make the textures look better I'm using GIMP to apply bump maps I made for those (using different pictures of the respective material) as well as a few filters. The 128x and 64x versions are basically downscaled versions and are much less detailed than the main 256x version but also less resource hungry.
I have used this texture pack and love it, but i'm running into problems with it. I use it for a while and after a few times of logging into Minecraft with this texture pack most of the textures turn to all white 2D boxes. I can't figure out the source of this problem. The only way I have found to resolve this problem is to uninstall the texture pack and then reinstall it. I have tried it with both McPatcher and Optifine but it still does this. Thanks for this texture pack and if anyone knows how to fix this I am open to any suggestions.
I love packs like this, but yours is one of the best. No over-done graininess. No copied work. You even have the water and lava, and good too. Amazing.
Edit:
The downloads aren't working for me ... Could you see if they're broken or something? I get this: http://adfoc.us/395985087982
nice work. you should consider also making a texture pack which is like the faithful pack except for 64x, 128x, etc. taking better advantage of the higher resolution while still sticking to the original style of drawing.
I know your licence says that its ok, but i just wanted to let you know that im going to use you 64x as a template for my new map's texture pack.
i plan on redoing all of the textures with time, but some will be just recolours, and i will be using your direct textures till such a time as i get around to replacing it.
It would make my dream come true if you could convert my terrain.png to a 64x (well actually just a few items because I only changed the ores and such). Respond pl0x
Update: Gold ore, iron ore, coal ore, redstone ore, grass (top left and block side, darkwood planks, glass, cobblestone, and mossy stonebrick, mossy cobblestone, and netherrack) You don't have to do this (obviously) but if you don't want to can you please still reply, or link me a tutorial on how to make them 64x

Well, I might convert and edit it in the next few days. By the release of the next VanillaHD update at the latest it hopefully will be ready.
Oh, and I just had to report a user named 'RastaPastaRox' on PlanetMinecraft for posting my texture pack without crediting me :-(
Anyway love the texture pack
I'm sorry, but all you have done here is added noise to the existing textures and put some nice water texture....onto the water texture.EDIT: My bad, sorry. You said that in the OP.
<3
Ok...
incase others want it
this is the entire terrain.png
Note : im not sure if this is the newest version of the texture pack, also this is the 256x Version
