This is for the record, then people understand why I am now asking you to remove my textures from your remix pack.

You have to understand some of your replies made me see red and profiting from my work, however small or indirect it may seem to be, was very insulting when I don't ask for donations myself. You would understand perhaps a little more if someone started to take control away from you with your server, right underneath your nose and the person who was doing that taunted you and said there's nothing you can do about it.

I much prefer this way of going about things, Sparx, and like Richasackboy I really don't bear grudges, as you and Catmaster have asked nicely in advance this time, offered credit and a link back (icing on the cake!)... you have my permission...providing no attempt to receive donations or adf.ly income is made with my textures in the pack.

No one is wanting to spoil anyone's fun Catmaster, but not checking where you got the original artwork from in the first place and asking permission to use it before giving it away, is sure to cause offence.

As I myself do not ask for donations, it is particularly annoying when someone else profits from it monetarily (even though you say you don't profit and no-one is forced to pay...if it's going towards a server that you would otherwise have to pay for and you are getting a few cents from adf.ly then you are still in principle getting money for work that belongs to someone else).

Trying to defend your position, in the way you both did, compounded the issue. An immediate apology in the forum, a sincere attempt to do things the right way, like you are doing now, would have avoided all the unpleasantness that ensued.

I hope things will be different in future for everyone's sakes so that all who contribute can expect to have their work respected and valued for the good of all.

As much as you might want me to, I don't want to have to walk away from the forums because I feel I'm being ripped off, I'd like to feel I can go on contributing new things for folk who like what I do.

So no lasting hard feelings here Catmaster, so long as we're all clear on what the rules that protect us all are.

Sparx, as you haven't respected the conditions I placed on using my textures, which are clear from the PM's above, Remove my textures immediately! And do not ask to use my work again...permission will not be granted. I say that with a hint of sadness not triumph, because I had thought you might have changed. :sad.gif:

I will now be reporting this to an admin. I am angry that after having been extremely reasonable with you, you have thrown my generosity of spirit back in my face. You've also made me think twice now about granting permission to anyone else on these forums when they ask properly to re-use my textures. I'll let you answer yourself to those over time.

If you argue, as I expect you will attempt to, that you are not asking for donations for the pack, but for your server, you are seriously misguided and not abiding at least by the spirit of my conditions. While my textures are occupying the same space in which you hope to receive monies for your server, they are helping to persuade folk to part with their money and you are again trying to benefit from the use of other peoples work, in this case mine...against my clear wishes.

If you think there's no harm in asking for money for your server, then by all means start a different thread asking for donations for your server, and see how far you get with that one, without anyone else's work fronting it. Like most requests of that nature, when folk beg for donations to buy Minecraft, you'll no doubt get short shrift.

If it is true you have also been using adf.ly or similar again, then you are indeed directly using my texures to receive monies and have again flagrantly contravened my conditions of use.

Stop taking people for idiots, and thinking you can lie through your teeth. This morning, UK time when I visited this thread, you clearly had a link asking for donations for your server. Since which you have removed the said link.
