Here you can see cobble, two types of bark, and the smooth stone. I think the trees look a lot nice, the bark isn't quite so "busy". Fits better with the rest of the pack.
-snip-
The wheat also appears to be new. I thought it looked a little strange on terrain.png but when I see them growing in a group I really like how it looks.
-snip-
Here's a tunnel that really showcases the new stone texture. I really like what you did with it Croco. You can also see some dirt in the pic, and bedrock at the bottom. (You mentioned a bedrock change in your post, but it appears to be the same still.)
-snip-
I was a bit worried when you mentioned changing the ores since I liked the old ones, but I can see that they wouldn't really work with a new smooth stone texture. Yet the new ores did not disappoint, they are also very nice and fit wonderfully with the new stone. Here we can see some Redstone and Coal ore!
-snip-
Here's the Iron ore, along with the cool tattered-parchment hotbar (also new? I think I would have noticed this before!)
-snip-
Finally, the classiest damn inventory menu I've ever seen!
-snip-
I tried to snap a picture of the new creeper, but only managed to get explosion particles. That's how I ended up with some random blocks in my inventory, but that way you can see the gravel texture. Not sure if that one is new, but pretty much anything is an improvement over default gravel.
Nice work Croco! If you can find some time in the next update it would be great if you could add support for the new BetterGlass (now Connected Textures Mod, but the connected glass is really what I want to see). If it's too much of a hassle that's fine, your texture pack is still awesome.
Oh wow, thank you! That does help a lot! The mini review and descriptions you threw in were very nice too. I'll combine these with a few of mine and upload them today!
To answer your questions: The bedrock was completely my bad, I thought it was new for some reason, don't know why.
The new hotbar is new, and so is all of the other basic GUI (no crafting and things like that yet).
And the gravel isn't new, but it does need some work. A lot of work actually.
And its no hassle at all! I am planning on adding support for that, although I'm not sure how. Do you have anything I can use as a template or any helpful links? If not, I could always look for it myself (now that that Google guitar isn't there to get me really sidetracked :tongue.gif: ).

Sure. If you download the mod it has the base file "ctm.png" which gives you something of an idea, but since regular glass doesn't have a frame it isn't much help. Someone in that thread also posted one for use with the johnsmith texture pack which will give you a better idea of where the frames and corners fit in.
I tried making my own before I saw that posted but couldn't get all the corners right, so it is kind of tricky. Hope that helps.

Alright, I'll try playing around with that a bit, thanks! Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out.
I'm excited to see what you are constructing! I've already seen some of your buildings and they look awesome.
Well..I can't say that all of what you've seen are mine. I have a lot of "playgrounds" to capture works of art that others build. Most of what I take screens of are from PipeWorld or my guilds SMP server. Tons of great builders that dwarf anything I have done.
I went spelunking earlier and got a screenshot of one of the new mob skins. The slimes make quite a unique sound that's easy to follow and this one led me to a spider dungeon!
On my way home this is what greeted me out of the fog.
I slayed it as usual, but after looking at this picture I wonder... What if he just wanted a hug? :sad.gif:
I've seen everything but the ghasts and chickens now. All the new mobs look pretty cool!
You've given me so much feedback, it only seems fair to return the favor.
The textures are a little too dark for my taste, but that's the only thing that bugs me about this pack overall. I'll conduct this review as if I had lightened them in PS.
First: I LOVE your mob skins. Absolutely adore them. Mobs have always given me a hard time, but you do them perfectly. And the zombies are inspired.
-The dirt texture (and how the sidegrass looks against it) just makes my day for some reason. I spent a while hopping around just admiring the grass.
-I'm not exactly a fan of the smooth stone, but then in general I don't like smooth stone that looks too much like cobblestone, so feel free to ignore me. Personal preferences aside, it still looks very nice.
-The ores bug me a little. The edges of the nuggets just seem too...blurry for some reason. Other than that I like the detail you put into them.
-I ADORE your wildgrass. X3
-I also adore your wooden planks. Very well done.
-Bark looks sweet, but the tiling is just a little bit off. The pattern changes just a little at the bottom of the block, enough so that I can tell where one ends and another begins. It's not noticeable enough to be annoying, though.
And finally, just to end on a high note: Your GUI screens (inventory, etc) are God's gift to texture packs. I kowtow before you in reverence, and hope that you might bestow upon me some of your glory for my lowly Lost Valley texture pack (I would also love you if you took a crack at mobs as well).
Overall, very nice job. And consider making a version that isn't so dark.

Thanks though Croco!
That's actually my test world. Mostly just a place to test textures. It has changed so many times...and been lost so many times...lol!
:tongue.gif:
Well, still! And I love pipeworld, although I've only seen pics and haven't been on it yet. I may have to join this week.

Very cool! Thanks, I found it very hard to get test slime since they're so hard to find, but that helps a lot. Now I know what it looks like ingame. I really like slimes, they are a really cool mob.
Well, even if all he wanted was a hug, I don't think I would. :tongue.gif:

Hey steelfeathers! Thank you for the review! I know what you mean about the darkness and I'm working on is fixing the brightness.
Thank you for all the compliments too! Now I'll try to address those issues. The smooth stone is sorta a WIP, I'm not sure If I want to keep it that way or to keep messing with it. The ores looking sort blurry is due to bad shading, it'll get better as my skill improves. I'll take a look at the bark, I sometimes don't notice these things.
I'm glad you really like the GUI! Although I'm not sure I'm to the skill level your bestowing on me yet! :tongue.gif:

Psst, here's a insider tip on how to get rid of the blurriness: Use the pencil tool.* No, really. Using the brush tools will only exacerbate the blurriness by added extra 'shading' pixels around the edges, which you do NOT want. It takes some time to go pixel-by-pixel like that, but the end result is worth it.
*Discovered though countless hours of trial and error, during which everything the artist produced looked like out-of-focus pictures pasted onto giant cubes.

I'll try that when I resume work on them! Thanks for the tip steelfeathers. :wink.gif:
I love it all, except sand.. its well.. too bumpy.. mabe make it a bit more flat if you understand what i mean.
Sand actually does get quite bumpy after a breeze has been blowing across it. This is just one of those personal preference things but I like it.
I saw a chicken yesterday. It's eye... it just stares... I think it has burned a hole in my soul. I don't think I shall be collecting eggs from those foul beasts anytime soon!

That's what I was going for!
And those chickens... I murder them whenever they wander onto my property. I made them and even I feel uneasy around them! :tongue.gif:
but still great :smile.gif:

Hmm, is that a mob farm over to the side? Looks interesting. It also reminded me that I need to change the sandstone. Not sure how yet.

Yes it is. Its on the server "Aurora".

I will! Now who to terrify first...
:smile.gif:
Its croco15. I actually live right in front of the massive temple.
Awesome! I liked the video a lot! Especially the chicken coop lol!
I'll put this on the front page when I get a chance!
By the way, I didn't recognize the song/band. Is that Tool? It reminded me a lot it.
Yes it is. And yes it does. :smile.gif:

Retired StaffThanks very much!
It was a Bush remix of "Zen" from the album "Deconstructed".
(Normally...I'd hafta chastise a person for even remotely getting them mixed up with sounding like Tool....but I'll let it slide)
