Hey guys, just wanted to pop in and say the next update will most likely be on monday night or tuesday. Going up to a cabin this weekend and wont have time to work on a lot of stuff. I'm hoping to have a ghast skin and a few of the terrain fixes done for 2.05
I just wanted to say that this is AMAZING. Definitely what others have said about the lava, cobble and obsidian, but I actually quite like the water. Maybe darken it SLIGHTLY and make it a teensy bit transparent. Another thing you could maybe do is make the ores slightly different, kind of like this windwaker pack:
but I don't like how white the ores are in this, I like your brown iron, and your glowing gold and diamond, but maybe change the coal, redstone and lapis a bit, keep up the good work, it looks AMAZING!

-Introducing the crazy Bubble Ghast!
-Cobblestone changed to an edit of the Mossy Cobblestone texture. It only makes sense they should both have the same texture with modifications, consistency is key imo. It also stacks nice :smile.gif:
-Breaking block texture added, looks more Wind Waker-ey
Next patch will be the water patch so things to expect:
Darker Wind Waker water color, with potentially some transparency
Water particles changed to be consistent and not white
Squid skin
I have decided to remove all alternate texture files from the pack to make it smaller. I am planning on releasing all of them in their own file for people to download when I am done. (easier to keep everything updated fully)

Uhm the sides of grass are gray. I don't think you fixed the grass :ohmy.gif:
Your graphics are most likely on fancy. I currently do not have a terrain.png with the grass color fixed for that setting. The only way to fix it would be to change the grey color to a standard green, but then everyone playing on fancy would not have biome compliant grass.
I will be releasing a file that fixes these things for fast graphics users, along with trees.
Also another fix is to use the bettergrass mod in the mcpatcher that you use to enable high res textures.

Yea the Poe design was really hard to work with. It always ended up looking a little disembodied or too square. I ended up going back to the drawing board and used the bubble design as a blueprint. I'm always open to touch up artwork and do alternate skins so you may yet see the Poe.
The skeleton was interesting to make because if you look at stalfos artwork they are very exaggerated in shape. That was one limitation but i am happy with it overall.
I appreciate you taking the time to post though and hope you enjoy the rest of the pack as much as I had fun creating it!
I love this texture pack and can't wait for the next update, I havn't had any success with the wild grass though. The wild grass mod seems to be loading from a folder named wild grass that isn't present in ur texture pack. I saw the art for it in the terrain folder. Forgive me if I'm makin a noob mistake but what's not working? thanks for any help.
now on to constructive critism. I like how you've made mossy stone and cobblestone match but I don't like the brown color to either. To me it just seems like it should be a shade of gray. the other thing bugging me someone else already mentioned, the lava. That's it, once again I love the texture pack.
Yea I honestly hate the lava at the moment, I'm going to look at changing either that or the water color today along with updating the files to 1.6. The cobble I agree might be kinda weird by I liked the variety and it made sense that if you cooked unrefined rock I'n a furnace it would turn grey so I let it slide for now.
I personally like the bubbleghast (and the skeleton is sexy as hell, best one I've seen). But I think the block breaking texture (the one with the cracks) looks a bit unrefined... Like if someone just spraypainted some random zig-zag. Just looks a little off to me.
And now since 1.6 is out, we need a texture for tall grass, two textures for shrubs (one dead and the other alive) and a texture for the trap door.

Haha no problem :smile.gif: it means you like it! I'm about halfway done on the 1.6 stuff. I think it's looking pretttty good. Ill refine the breaking texture too I think because I agree with you, needs a bit more depth. I should be done by tonight.
Ideally I want to make the cobble a darker tone of the smooth so don't worry, its in the changelog. To be honest I just made a quick edit to the original mossy block to make the cobble since I hated how the old one stacked.
This is ridiculously awesome. As soon as it’s updated for 1.6, I’m using this. Amazing work, both by you and the original artist. As a suggestion, once you get everything up to speed, would you consider making an AdventureCraft-usuable version? A lot of the stuff in there is taken almost directly from Zelda games, like the hookshot, boomerang, bombs, bomb arrows, heart containers, power glove, lantern, keyed doors, and other things. I’d love to be able to make a near-totally accurate remake of part of Windwaker, down to the dungeons and health system.
