I do agree with the above poster, some translucency to the water would be a nice addition. I don't know if that would conflict with the general 'cartoony' idea of this pack, though.
Also, you should go with the tektite, if you can make it look a bit more dangerous. It looks a bit bit too passive in the pic you posted, IMO.

Oh, I think you'll enjoy this design. I just finished it. I was going to wait until I fixed up fast graphics but I think ill release it now. There will be 2 alternate terrain files for the doors with windows too.
About the water. I agree maybe a slight bit of translucency might be nice. I need to research how I would do that though. I'm mostly learning everything as I go with this.
2 New door styles, the first one is now the main terrain file. The old non window door is included with a "classic" tag and the claw one is included as well. To change to them simply rename the file "terrain" and put it back into the zip file.
Also fixed was chests, not sure if it was this or last patch but the front was fixed to actually be the front.
A few more criticisms. First, I dont really like cobble, it's too similar to normal stone in that its mostly just a gray block with cracks in it, and it's very bad for building. So Id say either change normal stone to a more solid gray or change cobble to some sort of stone brick texture, an example of this would be outside the bomb shop on windfall islands, there are little walls around the path to it. Also, The water is brighter than the Wind waker water . Finally, I dont think there is a visual difference between untaimed and taimed wolfs, if there is, it's very subtle. Of course, this is all just my opinion.
I do really like where youre going with this oack, and Im excited to see what you do in the future.
Also, Im still having the backwards chest problem.

Thank you :smile.gif:
Most of the terrain files were continued on from Ravecats old version so I agree there may be tweaks or changes that can be made. I can and will take a look at those for the future.
I'll check out the chest thing too.
So it looks like for the chest for the version uploaded now:
If you place the double chest against a wall, it will show the front
If you place it in a field, up against nothing, it will be placed opposite
I guess it is unavoidable? without using the front faced side for both sides of the chest.
The water is something I'm going to look at soon though, I want to make it slightly transparent and ill take a look at the color though now that you mention it. Keeping everything in the world coherent is one of my priorities.
For the wolves, the only difference at the moment is that the tamed one has chains along its legs, much like Link in his wolf form in Twilight Princess. I was thinking about adding something along the back, but if anything the next time I do a pass over the mob skins I'll look at a collar or even basic armor perhaps.
As for the next version, I want to finish the mob skins before the passive mobs, simply because its more fun :smile.gif: so I think a Ghast skin might be next in line. I haven't thought about it too much but maybe a Poe model?
Anyways those are just my ramblings! I appreciate all the constructive criticism, from you and everyone. Thanks for taking interest in my work.
First off, this is easily my favorite texture pack. I almost jumped with joy the moment I found this. I'm in love with the Zelda games, and Wind Waker was one of my favorites. Loved the bright colors and the cheerful feel to it. When I play Minecraft, I usually have Wind Waker music playing in the background, so this texture pack just made me extremely happy.
Anyways, when I installed the shader mod and went into Minecraft, everything appeared a bit blurry. Is there a setting I need to switch it to, or is that an indication it won't work with my computer's graphics card?

I'm have an NVIDIA QUADRO FX 880M.
Define blurry, please. Screenshot maybe?
Oh and i tried getting the soundpack, but the link's broken.

I think they did a pretty good job with it. As for how to accomplish it, I have no clue as I haven't tried making a pack and I doubt I could make one as awesome as this one anyway.

Yeah a screenshot might give us an idea of whats going on.
Oh I think I know whats going on. He most likely has the default shaders installed, which includes a heavy depth of field filter. Double check that you downloaded yousef's cartoon shaders, I think there is a link in the glsl wiki for them. Link is here, you want the one labeled this:
The sound links broken? I'll take it down then [fixed the link, I just entered it in wrong. Still dont know how to use it yet though] It was a link on the discontinued versions post that I brought over. Does anyone else know of any other wind waker/zelda sound mods?

I'll check out how it was done in that pack, good idea. Also thank you :smile.gif:
I support changing the cobblestone to that particular brick texture. I do think the normal stone and dirt combination should remain though.
Water is a tricky subject in Wind Waker, because in the original game it isn't actually transparent at all, but clearly many people want it to be in this pack.
I'd be okay with it being a deep, flat blue like this:
but I suspect many want something different.
So if everybody could leave their suggestions for water, that would be excellent~
Regarding the spider skin; it's great. Obviously I'm more partial to Tectites and I feel they're more Wind Waker-esque, so if that was an option it would be amazing too.
Cheers guys for the wonderful comments, and many thanks to Ironsentron for saving this pack from the abyss! :biggrin.gif:

Yeah I almost started making the Tectite but changed over to the Skultula after. Spider was one of the toughest skins for me to do and was dreading it pretty bad. I most likely might try to make a Tectite as an alternate skin later. With some cool transparency effects hopefully if I can make it look good.
I like having a few alternate textures just so people have the option for both, and lets me flex my creative muscles :biggrin.gif:
Also can one of you pm or post here a screen of the cobble texture? I cant seem to find a screenshot.
This texturepack has evolved fast and in a very promising direction. I love the new zombie, skeleton and spider skins. They're remarkable! I never would have imagined that mobs could look as great as they are in this pack with the blocky limitations of minecraft. You sir, are a true visionary.
Now to the part where the texturepack needs improvements... I agree that the cobble- and stonetexture look too much alike. Obsidian doesn't stand out at all as it's just a darker cobbletexture so I hope that gets improved. And what else was there...? Ah, yes, the lava... I did not at all agree with lava's texture. As it is now it does not look like wind waker's lava (maybe this isn't what its supposed to be... dunno). I think it looks more like some kind of candy paste or something... very sticky and not appealing to the eye at all.
Thar be me constructive criticism (hey, no good progress without it, right :smile.gif:). <- May diamonds be your muse :smile.gif:
Yeah the lava is something that I want to change for sure. Thanks for the input, appreciate it. Those are some of the textures that seem to be brought up the most so I will try to find something that fits well.
Grable: did you use the other shader mods by yousef? i agree the base shader makes everything WAYY to blurry with depth of field, but as you can see in my screenshots it shouldn't look like that. (all were taken with the shaders on) Let me know if you need help, it took a while for me to understand the mod fully.
Possibly if you guys have dl'ed the right mod, when you replace the files in the "shaders" folder, you must run the installer again for the new effects to take hold.
Also yeah the snow causes problems you cant see much with the shader installed. I have my own snow.png file that I made but looks terrible without the shaders enabled so I haven't put it in the pack.(its not the greatest tbh)
I have a couple designs going for the ghast, its actually harder than i thought to make a good looking poe on the huge ghast cube. Here are the two I have atm.
also I will most likely add in a little transparency to water and also darken it up a bit to the dark blue in windwaker. Particles for water will change 100% for sure too.

Love what you've done with the pack so far, the addition of wild grass makes it much better, I'm wondering if you are planning on adding the rest of the wildgrass textures? Also, the Cobblestone has a dark edge which makes it tile poorly, hopefully you can work on that next update. Other than that, amazing pack, you and rave are doing a great job.
How did you add a outline like ... thing on it o_0?
I think its called a sobel affect, how did you do it o_o
otherwise, amazing texture pack if your a zelda fan!

Only one suggestion. Maybe add some transparency/translucency to the water. It would be nice to see through it at least a little bit.
Also, you should go with the tektite, if you can make it look a bit more dangerous. It looks a bit bit too passive in the pic you posted, IMO.
