I've been working on making my own texture pack for a while now. It is practically done, but I was just hoping for some feedback. I'm pleased with most everything so far being not the best with artistic things.I made it all myself, except the water and lava. I borrowed those from the doku texture pack. Borrowed because if I can figure out how to make water and ice see through I'll use my own.
Some things to note, the top of the sandstone can be seen by the detector rail and the top of the half step is by the repeater.
I made some lava and have plain water now, and changed up most of the ores.
Huh, I could've sworn you just had different textures up...
This is one of them, happened to have it on a separate tab. Weird. I'm an idiot and I think I replied to the wrong thread, nevertheless, whatever I said still stands.
Anyway, I like your ore blocks, but I think the coal and lapis lazuli ore blocks could use a little bit of work. I think it looks weird how it's so light around the edges of the ore.
I like most of the blocks, but I think the doors look weird.
Making water and ice transparent is acually alot easier than some might think.
I'm not sure what art software you used to make these (i like the redstone quite a bit) but if your art software supports "ALPHA TRANSPARENCY" or "ALPHA CHANNELS" when it comes to exporting png's then you are in luck.
All you need to do is make sure whatever new document you create to do the ice or water on has a fully transparent backround. In most software it's a lightly colored checkerboard pattern. If it's plain white, its probably not transparent.
And then you just have to edit the opacity of whatever tool you are using to paint the water/ice textures.
You can even make some parts of the water and ice more transparent then others.
If you art software can't do that, I'd recommend downloading The Gimp. It's free, it does everything I just talked about, and other than having an interface menu system so ugly it will make you want to slap your momma, it does everything photoshop can.
I figured that is how it would work, but each time I tried it it was never see through. Turns out I just wasn't making it see through enough. 50% opacity works great.
Thanks for the input Banishga. I know the iron door is awful. I just ran out of inspiration I guess. The wooden door is supposed to kind of be a paper door. It has two windows, the top one has 3 sun beams, and the bottom has a sun and the beginning of the beams (The Rising Sun). It looks better close up, but still is a little out of place and could use some work. And I'll check on my coal / lapis. :smile.gif:

Thanks, I hope that is better. I used tinypic.. super easy. I'll use that from now on.
