very original idea, very well executed and it looks so nice.
I would strongly suggest you to continue.
actually this has been done before...a long time ago, and disappeared into the depths of the latter pages of the forum.. don't recall if it was done this well or not... but this does look pretty good.
This is all I have done at the moment, but I guess I could upload it if you want it in this early of a stage.
Don't mind the breaking animation, I completely messed it up.

I google'd like a mad woman, but only found this and this.
HOLY CRAP, finish now! This will be one heck of a pack in the future. Honestly.

Every time that someone on the support forums doesn't say anything after I tell them a possible solution, I assume that they are having too much fun enjoying their fixed Minecraft to reply.
Extremely impressive, well executed, and original! I love it! Please, finish it! One thing I noticed is the side of the snow in game is odd because of the side of the snow cover. I can't explain, you would not understand. Just look at it in-game.
I'm surprised by all the positive responses, I'll try to finish up and release the terrain tomorrow then.

I'm glad you like it.
I am anal retentive and immediately noticed the snow issue when I went to a snowy zone. I'll see what I can do about it tomorrow though.
the first link you posted is close...but not the one... I don't have a clue what it was called honestly.. wasn't my cup o' tea, and to me not worth remembering >.> this one is nice though, I'll bookmark it and check it out once it's closer to final. and btw..your other pack is awesomely presented.. was complimenting on how professional it is earlier today to someone.

Oh, I see. And thanks. I plan to do a similar setup with this thread as well, but I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested so I didn't bother making the headers and such. I plan to do them before the first release of this texture pack though.
I think this actually looks interesting and nice. I think I'll give it a try. It's good to see people trying new things to make something intriguing. It's actually artistic looking and has a good feel to it. I'd rather use this than all the disgustingly "simple" 16 packs or all the oddly similar 128 packs haha.

I like how they generally look but can I suggest making the edges of the pieces on the rail edges darker, and maybe more connected.

I like it, reminds me of a piece of patchy cloth, I'd try it if it's finished.
Now time to catch up on Romantically Apocalyptic, because I completely forgot it existed. Thanks for posting.
Welcome any time, happy surviving in the apocalypse!
I would strongly suggest you to continue.
Also I've now looked up Romantically Apocalyptic, and it is awesome.
