I've been using this texture pack since the 1.5 update and this is amazing.
It's actually one of the few texture packs which I uses for more than a week.
After updating to 1.6, I've found some minor bugs and tried to fix them myself, I'll post them here so that other people could enjoy those little detail sweetness!
The first one is the animated diamond sword texture, it first appeared as a 2*2 black-and-purple checkerboard.
Copying any .mcmeta file and renaming it "diamond_sword.png.mcmeta" fixed it.
The second one is the language pack, the option of the Mineout - English language in the language menu was missing, and I edited the pack.mcmeta like so:
Also, the file name of the alt textures is not updated.
I hope this can help other people to have a optimal enjoyment using this texture pack!
Oh wow, I was just playing around with the language option but now I will definitely finish it up and make it official! Thank you so much I'll also fix the animated diamond sword.
Which is of course located in a document called "Legal-Stuff-Must-Read.txt" inside of the Mineout pack which you obviously didn't read. So go do so now in your nearest copy of Mineout.
Nope, i didn't read that. I kinda expected the legal stuff to be in the "Legal and Distribution" spoiler in the OP.
But since you've pointed it out, redistributing Bethesda's stuff via adfly is commercial use. Using something to make a small amount of money is still using it to make money.
...there is nothing wrong with what I am doing. Just look around at other PC game mods. There are plenty that use other peoples sounds and music. Even some that is protected under law. However it is fine as long as they don't profit from their direct inclusion. Matter of fact Mineout is a glorified Fallout mod for Minecraft.
I know snatching art/music/sounds from other games and using however is a common practice. That is an entirely different thing from either being right or legal.
I don't know the laws of wherever you are from, but it it seem clear you have a very different interpretation of the protections of the law when it applies to Bethesda's creative work, and your package of your own + Bethesda's work.
To put it simply, you may not do anything with it other than play it without our permission. So you may not re-upload, re-distribute or edit ANY of this pack without our permission! SERIOUSLY. The pack is protected under artists copy right and is protected under the law.
That's a prime example of a double standard.
EDIT: That's all i have to say, I think i've said it clearly. I leave the issue in the mod's hands. I'm not going to participate in an ad hominem argument.

I do admit that there are some typos and incorrect wording throughout various parts of the info. That is due to it having to be updated as things came up. It has been more than two years since some of those things where written. I need to re-write the entire thread some time to correct this pile up of changed info.
The "legal and distribution" is incredibly out dated and that last part there was written specifically to certain individuals who didn't really understand what the above meant.
As for ADFLY, I never really figured it as profit for the pack as it is only a gate way to the download. This is practically the same as someone on youtube creating videos with say Fallout 3 and making short stories, or even "lets plays" and then receiving profit from the video's adds.
In addition using the ADFLY link is not the only way to download the Mineout pack. You could simply go to my mediafire and download it. We are talking about fractions of a cent for each time someone uses the ADFLY link. Initially I had no intentions of using Bethesda's sounds. I was merely tinkering with the new sound system. I ended up deciding to upload Mineout with the sounds to see how people liked them. I would later take them down but I have gotten positive feedback so I decided to keep it up.
In conclusion I (The_Gotham) am not the only one who works on Mineout. So it can get confusing trying to express both of our intent and ideologies in accordance to the law and in a synchronized way sometimes which has ultimately caused this issue of misspoken intent. I apologize for any sort of negative comments aimed at your person as a lot of people start things like this out of malicious intent. Though your first comment was itself an Ad Hominem based on misunderstanding and overlapping out of date information.
I can appreciate the gesture of trying to resolve the issue of the new sounds legal stance as it was not updated for the new implications of owned sound. Though the tone of your message was not appreciated.
I will do all in my power to clear up this issue.
EDIT:
I have since added the alternative Adfly free download to the main page downloads section as well as correcting the Legal and Distribution.
Mineout Pack is intellectual property of The_Gotham, Neptune4a and Cypher Unknown Studio. To use this pack in any form, including but not limited to: creating remix packs, artwork, and videos, other such non-private uses, you must let us know beforehand.
Regarding the new sounds and music files: they are property of Bethesda and their respective musical artists and are not for commercial use. Do not re-distribute or modify them either. We do not claim to own them.
Do not re-upload or re-distribute any of the pack's contents without our given connect. You may edit the pack as you please as long as you do not re-distribute or re-upload it.
The pack is protected under artists copy right and is protected under the law.
I do believe that this resolves the matter. Thank you for your concerns. Have a pleasant day.
Thanks for the other link. I'm sorry I couldnt get you money by using adfly, its been iffy on my computer latley. This texture pack is truly amazing and I am enjoying it immesly. You did a great job, keep up the good work. The only thing I have to say is maybe the villager sounds should be changed, when they get hurt they should say lines npcs say in fallout when running away or something. Just a thought. Thank you for the texture pack

Im really glad that you were able to download it. After all I want everyone to enjoy Mineout. Thank you for your concerns of ADFLY, really, your support is very appreciated. Everybody gets trouble with Adfly some times. So for future reference I just added an alternative (direct) download to the main page as quite a few people have had that problem.
As for the villagers I have yet to add sounds to them, the ones you hear are vanilla MC. I will be sure to change them when I can.
Instead of the hunger bar being what i assume is meant to be the ap meter could it possibly the Geiger counter now that command blocks can give the hunger effect simulating a realistic radiation effect withing minecraft all that would have to be changed is the colour to red.
That sounds extraordinarily interesting for an adventure map feature but not all that practical for vanilla survival. Though in addition to being red instead of green the bars would have to appear as you lose hunger points as to make it seam as if you are gaining radiation.
In addition it would be odd to be able to eat any sort of food causing loss of radiation. Most of the food items we have would give radiation in Fallout. That being said I will look into ways to simulate radiation in Minecraft.
Thank you very much for the idea. I will play around with the idea.
personally I've never have played Fallout before
so ... this is all new to me ^^;
kind of
lol good job XD now I am terrified for my life while playing the regular Minecraft with just a resource pack pffft
first time when I fell and took damage I freaked out because of that custom sound! also... chickens look cool, but the sound makes me startled.
Only DogMeat is the least friend to me now ;_;
Pigs make the freakiest sound >_>
basically I am just experiencing all the new sounds and feels, because I haven't played Fallout before XD
but you did a very good job! ^^ I support this!(even though now I am terrified for life XD)
It's really great to hear how the new sounds have such an affect on the experience. Even I get unsettled by the new sounds at times. Zombie's sounds in particular. It's great to know how someone who is not so familiar with Fallout perceives the pack. So thank you very much for your input. Glad you like the pack and enjoy your stay.
I love this pack, been using it since 1.4 and have it on a server. You are a texturing god.
On another note, adf.ly didn't let me download the latest version from the recommended link because it didn't want you giving away free Dean Martin, apparently. Not sure if this has happened to anyone else, just thought I'd point it out. Nevertheless, cypher, you're awesome. The new sounds and item names make it even awesome-er, too.

I'm having the same problem. It seems the file I downloaded was empty :/ dunno if it's just my computer or what but yeah that might be the problem.

Hey guys, I have some more error reporting to do. When I tried to use the Mineout language the RP adds, it crashed the game and gave something about being unable to load the language. If anyone else has experienced this problem, I managed to come up with a solution:
1. Go into the 'lang' folder inside the resource pack. (You can find it this way: Mineout Resource Pack -> assets -> minecraft -> lang)
2. Delete the 'Language settings' text file--it's the only other file in lang besides en_MO.
3. Rename en_MO to en_US.
4. Open en_US with whatever program Windows users use to open text files.
5. Change
language.region=US
language.code=en_MO
to:
language.region=US
language.code=en_US
6. Save and close the file. If you want to use the Mineout language, first select the Mineout resource pack and then set your language to regular US English.
Hope this helps anyone having problems with the custom Mineout language (which was awesome for cypher to add, btw)

the pack cant be opened with 7zip i think this might have something to do with the problem.
is a 32x32 a future option?
I do not have any plans to make the pack available in 32x32 as that would essentially mean completely redoing the entire pack. It has taken quite a long tome to get to this point where there isn't really any vanilla textures. There are still a few to be worked out like the end but we have been working on this for about three years now.

According to what you just told me was legitimate in reusing Fallout's content, a third person would be equally legitimate is taking your Mineout textures and making a new pack around them and redistributing them via adfly-- as they included the disclaimer:
"Regarding the texture files: they are property of Cypher Unknown Studios and their respective artists and are not for commercial use. Mineout © Cypher Unknown Studio, the_gotham, Neptune4aFallout © Bethesda Game Studios".
But according to your "Legal and Distribution"
That's a prime example of a double standard.
