the thing with custom animations is that you can't just change one that already exists other than color/transparency or it will break it.

check this thread for the basic rules of animating. fire follows the same rules as water/lava/portal.

i patched my game with the custom fire animation turned on, added in photo realism, and the photo realism fire doesn't work. anyone know why?
