i downloaded voxel's texture pack and it changed the name of some of the items like the gold sword, slimeball. and i was just wondering how you would be able to change the names of items and blocks? thanks in advance

Did you need to use a patcher with this pack? I'd like to rename some of the items in my texture pack.

im on a mac and all i did was download the texture pack and then put all the folders inside the folder that contained my minecraft game.

Could you link me to the texture pack? Some dissecting should find what it is.

Inside the 'lang' folder in the texture pack or minecraft.jar, there will be a file called 'en_US.lang'; open that in a text editing application and you can change the 'tool-tip' text.

I had always thought that you had to change coding or something to change the name

nevermind i got it to work and im happy about that :smile.gif:

This will come in handy if I ever want to change an ore to whatever I want. =D
