*For anyone wondering I am not currently working on this pack. I do have plans to update it for the release version, but am currently quite busy with real-life things. Therefore I am not going to promise when this will be done so as not to get anyone's hopes up.*
Hey guys this is my first texture pack, and I've finally gotten some serious work done on it. I have been going for relatively simple textures as I wanted to keep it 16x16. I removed all the original screenshots as they are vastly out of date and many things have changed considerably. Anyways here are some pictures, and I would love to get some feedback.
An overview
A look at the nether. Yes the lava is green. It was largely inspired by hellfire peninsula from world of warcraft.
Artwork (Some from google images, some personal photos resized and a few hand drawn in paint)
As you can see I'm finished nearly all the terrain and just have a few blocks I am currently unhappy with. Bedrock is probably going to get another overhaul, I was going for a molten rock look and it just isn't working for me yet. I also have to change the white wool texture to match the others, and add in a few of the newer blocks like new saplings and pistons. Pictures of the mobs are a few posts down, and are also mostly completed.
Changelist
Edit (July 8): Altered sandstone, bedrock, bed and slight color alteration to tree foliage. Added textures for tnt, noteblock/jukebox and redstone items.
Edit (October 17): Altered -
Log textures/colors
Chest and workbench
Cobblestone/mossy cobble
Smoothstone coloration
Stone slabs
Brick texture and color
Sandstone texture and color
Gravel color
Flower, mushroom, and dead shrub
Lazuli block color
Foliage texture (Fast only)
Clay color
Working on wool textures
Added: stone bricks, iron bars, giant mushroom and melon textures (all currently default)
Fixed redstone to show if off or on (hopefully it's not backwards)
Shameless bump. I've gotten a lot of work done on the terrain and some of the placeable blocks. Things still may change if I get the notion that I don't like something. I'm planning to work on mob skins next, so hopefully that goes well. If someone can tell me how I can alter the color of the water that would be awesome. I've seen it done in some packs and I feel the default water is just too dark, I'm going for a more tropical feel possibly. Anyways tell me what you guys think....constructive criticism is always appreciated.
Yeah to be honest I agree with you there. I'm thinking of changing the iron door to a different look. Probably a screen door or a glass patio door type thing.
Hey guys I need some help from an experienced texture pack person. I want to edit the color of my water and how it flows and such and I was wondering what files I have to download to make this work. I already altered the water color in the default terrain file but that obviously did nothing as my water is still dark blue. I know there is some sort of file with like 16 pictures of the water or something....dunno if it was HD texture fix maybe? Anyways if someone knows what I'm talking about I would really appreciate a link to the file :laugh.gif:
Also here's an update to mob skins:
In order there is pig, cow, wolf, squid, slime, sheep, chicken, spider, zombie, skelly
Just wanted to bump this as I have now completed almost all the terrain and art, and suggestions/feedback would be very appreciated. All the pics in the first post are freshly updated as of today so please tell me what you guys think. Also If you want a download link let me know and I'll try to get one up.
Thanks :smile.gif: I was mostly inspired by another game I play, but also because I've seen some neat lava renderings but never any recolors. It's always well...lava colored. So I decided to shake things up a bit.
I like this for a first pack, really well made. Not so sure about the green lava, but thats just personal preference. Good job, keep up the good work :smile.gif:
