The pack is outdated. Either turn your graphics to fast, look for an updated version or use another pack. It's because the side of grass was changed in 1.5.
If your graphics are on Fancy, the first layer of dirt turns a blackish-purplish color with water beeing seen on the side. This is to give the affect that the ground is wet. It doesn't have anything to do with a texturepack. Just turn your graphics on Fast. :smile.gif:

Can someone tell me a actual answer? I downloaded another pack made by a friend and I dont have this issue with her pack. What changed between 1.4 and 1.5? I updated my Misc Folder.
Ok, awesome. Open up the terrain.png, and use the selection tool to get the "grass" portion of the grassy dirtblock. (the green, not the dirt.) Copy it. Make a new file using "clipboard" size. Make a new layer to that file and convert the background layer to a normal layer and delete it. Paste your grass onto the transparent layer and go to image -> mode and select grayscale. Then copy it. On the terrain.png, delete the black and blue block. Paste the result of the other file onto the blank space. Merge visible layers (NOT FLATTEN!) and save as png. Sorry if its a little complicated, and you can send me the terrain.png if it doesn't work, and I'll do it for you.
EDIT: Not the terrain.png in the jar file, but the terrain.png in the texture pack, just to clear it up...
