If you want a good simple texture pack I personally recommend Sinecraft or Frenden's. Both are cute and simple without being bland! They will make your heart smile. And when that happens, you know it's time to go to a clinic.

I would never call Painterly simple. Try out ShortStuf's pack. Cleanest (and most attractive) simple TPack I've used.
