Yeah, I'm inclined to lean the same way. I'm currently using a soil texture provided by XSSheep but it's not as rich as what I had in mind. I may need to consider going with a richer soil as well.

Having some conceptual issues with Diamond and Gold armor. I'm thinking Diamond will be Eagle Warrior suit and Gold will be a preist outfit with headdress and cape.
I working on the rain a bit while thinking about this.

And worked on/modified the chest gui as well.
Tell me what you think.
Awesome. I like that mayan style sword... it'd be cool if the guis have grids. Maybe add that cool pattern you have?
Oh and please I understand but can you add a dirt thats a tad lighter? Not too much.
Also alt with stereotypical hearts?
Also I don't want to sound annoying but the pigs faces look bad.

I'll think about the dirt. Probably will do an alt for the hearts though, but not until I finish everything else.
Thats good to know, but what looks bad about the pigs? I need some input so I can change them.
PS. Working on 1.6 as well. Will be done tonight or tomorrow morning... probably.
Updated for 1.6, more or less.
- Trapdoor, map icon, and tall grasses done
- Still need to do map gui
- Some tweaks and changes, as well as a temporary diamond armor. It's a Jaguar Warrior suit, made by tzontlimixtli on www.minecraftskins.com.
The pigs... well they're faces don't even look like pigs. Maybe you could have the original style pig and a alt where its a Mayan Boar thing. :blink.gif:
Oh! Maybe you could make a Maya bighorn. The ones that live in the mountains? Yeah...
PLEASE. Add a grid on the Guis? Its really hard to organize.
Please. Don't get mad. Im just giving feedback ok? (Just in case :approve: )

Huh, completely forgot about the bighorns. Maybe I could use them for the sheep?
Yeah the pig faces are a bit strange, but I was looking over the Jolicraft texture pack and realized I had taken taken the same pigface style. I'm not certain if I should keep it, or leave it be quite yet. Need to think about it.
Yeah, I'll probably put a grid on some of the inventory and the 2x2 crafting. I've found it does get a bit confusing.
Haha, I'm not going to get mad. It's good to get input, thought not all input I get will go into this. All of it gives me ideas and inspiration though.

I love mesoamerican mythology, culture, and architecture, so I love this pack.
My only complaint is that the cobblestone doesn't look much like that of what many of the ruins look like, so it's rather hard to make a good looking pyramid.
The pattern looks akward on the side of the dirt, too.
Still, 9.5/10 in my book!
Also, could you release a version that doesn't have a custom water and lava texture, so that we can use this pack without modloader if we want?
@Jabberwock xeno Well when doing the cobblestone, I was at first going for something like the Inca stonework (which is beautifully stunning) but it didn't work very well. So I gave up and did this. Looking at the Mayan and Aztec structures though I'm starting think something like what I have, but thinner smaller stones. I'll work on it and post some pics.
Also you don't need to use modloader, because it uses no mods. You don't need to use the Patcher if you won't want, it will work just fine. Anyway the custom water/lava are primarily a part of the terrain.png, I can't really remove them.

Cool texture pack... mind making grass and dirt a little bit lighter? Looks like a rainforest!
the heart of aztec culture was in the valley of mexico, which was at the time, a mix of plains, and rainforest.
Much of mexico is still rainforest, the problem is, us americans see places like Tijuana and Mexico city, which are surrounded by desert and forest. but southern mexico... yeah, rainforest and jungle. Thats part of why I love this texture pack (granted i'm still using I think 1.3 or 1.4... i'mma update it now.)

Sorry for the lack of updating, been busy rebuilding my lean-to. The crabs are coming out and I need to make it a foot higher so they done bit my toes. Tomorrow is my day off, so hopefully I will get some of this texture pack done. Till then.

The patters over do it a bit, the water doesnt look that nice and the sun and moon just make it seem noobish.
I personally like the patterns, and the moon and sun make it interesting. It also shows a much bigger attention to detail than many packs. If you don't like the main theme of a texture pack, just don't use it.

Though I take allot of inspiration from the Aztec, I like the idea of rich soil from Mayan lands. I think I'll keep it this way for now.

Um, not sure what to say about that. Never known that to happen before. It's not a 32x pack. You have any mods installed?
