I do recognize the Mayan/Aztec patterns. However, I feel like you reuse the same two patterns a bit often. It does not need a great deal more variety, but a little more wouldn't hurt.

This is true. I felt for materials of similar composition, kind or relation I should keep the same general pattern. I will admit though that some of this is out of laziness. For example my original plan for wool was for each of them to have a different pattern corresponding to dye. So that the red and yellow wool would have different flowery designs, and the green would have a spiky cactus design, the black a thick oily sort of style, and so on.
Instead I just said "balls to it, lets just get this out there. I can change it later." And that is what I will probably do.

Update v. 1.4
- icons.png done (health, armor, oxygen and crosshair)
- inventory.png done, though some work is still needed to make it look good.
- A few items, not much. I seem to be shuffling around doing those. Inspiration is slow.
Picture!
See the Hearts are hearts. Aren't I so clever.

This is my new favorite texture pack. also that bedrock is sweet.
Here are some suggestions
Make Iron ore more distinct. It's a bit difficult to tell apart from stone. basically just a bit of a color change on the iron parts.
Cactus why does everyone make cactus ugly flowery things.
Booster track does not obviously light up I'm not sure why.
Make coal blocks less cool looking, I wanna build houses out of coal blocks (just kidding)
My only real complaints are that you made look like , look like , bamboo (no icon?) looks like Mostly just that looks like :....:s though.
but seriously... new favorite texture pack

Don't tell me that the sky is the limit, when there are footprints on the moon.
I like the input allot.
Yeah I wanted it to look something like the Agave inflorescence. But the execution was a bit off. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... cana02.jpg
Screwed up the booster tracks, and have now fixed them.
Suppose the Iron could be a bit redder.
The reeds were supposed to be maize, and sugar crushed corn. Like corn starch. Crops are supposed to be beans. So the seeds are beans. The crops are also beans. So... that gets a bit confusing. Maybe make the beans like a pile, or a sack with beans spilling out? I'll test out what works. Also the Maize item icon looks shity, so thats on my list to change too.

Ah, if that'd been said in advance it would have made more sense.
As for the iron, If you make it more 'red', like a silvery-red/pinkish color, it might be more easily confused with gold, or redstone. (haven't found redstone yet since this TP. and I don't look in advance) I also haven't seen lapis yet so to much blue could be bad. but anyway...
Now that i've been playing with this more, I have 3 other comments.
1. The difference between 1 heart, and 1/2 heart, Is not distinct enough.
2. The icon for which quickslot is selected is to dark compared to the quickslots themselves. It makes it hard to see whats highlighted. Perhaps a gold or red. something nice and vivid.
3. Lots of darkly colored items ('beans', coal, wheat, meat, etc) on a dark inventory background. Also makes it hard to see.
Basically 2&3, the gui is to dark and makes it hard to see. maybe make the darker items a little bit darker, and the gui a little bit lighter? (or vice-versa) I like the gui, just not how dark it is.
Also I just got this idea of a pig with a ridiculous Aztecan headdress. OH YEAH one other thing. JADE. something should have jade in it. Maybe the minecarts or something.

Maybe tint it a bit more purple, but not completely blue. Lapis is pretty vibrant, so I don't think it would get confused. Not certain. Will test some things out.
Yeah, I lightened the inventory up, allot. Going for a look similar to stone, but I feel it needs adjusting.
I tried to make the half heart look like a bleeding half heart. I'll take away some of the blood splatter.
Changed the quick-slot selection to look like stone. I like the idea of gold though.
Hmm, I haven't been thinking about the mobs as much. What if the Zombies are other hostile natives, and the Skeletons are the skeletons Spanish colonists. The Zombie Pigmen would be the souls of those who have been sacrificed (the pigs), and the Ghasts some kind of underworld gods? For the Creepers, I have no idea. Probably make them camouflage with the ground and grass. (Mwahaha!) Or make them in the image of a feathered serpent.

you could always go the other way with it and be like "all the mobs are aztec, and your the spanish" because after all, you are the explorer aren't you?
I like the idea of ZPM being the souls of sacrifices though. However, I wouldn't worry to much about the mobs yet.
I finally found a few things.
Lapis : Awesome
Redstone : Awesome EXCEPT the breaking animation isn't showing up noticeably, and the dust looks like mushrooms or something.
Diamonds : yep... those are diamonds.
Clay : Ugly as hell atm... very visible but its like zig-zag pink. (I hadn't found clay and this TP helped though)
GLOWSTONE DUST does not have a graphic. you removed the graphic and didn't put a new one in. (Have not been to the nether since getting this texture pack.
I only just NOW DL'd 1.6 so I'll be checking that out in a bit, but in the version I had it didn't even display the sun/moon correctly.

Don't tell me that the sky is the limit, when there are footprints on the moon.
Alright so...
- Changed the breaking animation and bit, so hopefully it will show up better.
- Tweaked the clay color a bit, but kept the design.
- Put in the glow-stone dust (woops).
- Added pig, chicken and creeper skins
- Also did a horrible looking Ghast, please don't look at it, it's horrible.
- Other little tweaks

Thanks, I appreciate it.
No idea why that account is showing a different username now (probably pooched in yesterday's rollback)... but "xXSypherXx" is not me. BlackWolf67 was the username I chose. Sounds like they reassigned the login or something. Glad I got my original account back online.

"Don't know why you should feel that there's something to learn... it's just a game that you play."
I've been pretty busy lately, but have built a list of to-do's for this pack. These will take time for me accomplish. Therefore I may not be able to release an update until the end of this week. By then I will hopefully have finished the GUI and Armor. I'll post pictures if anyone wants to seen them, otherwise I'm gonna be keeping pretty silent.
- Various tweaks
- Iron, Gold, Diamond items done
- Some other items done, though much more still to do
Mythology, by Edith Hamilton
- Wildgrass Mod added, only grass texture so far
- A few more items like fish and eggs
- Tweaks.
