Updated, changes and new links in first post :smile.gif:
Also it would be really nice if someone wants to make a video "showing" the texture pack so I can use it instead of screenshots! I'm working on a demo map too. Probably will be finished/released with next version, not sure though.
Sevenfour, your texture pack is one of the best out their and I truly do love it.
So please, heed me when I say this:
The new grass and stone are..... Not as good in my opinion. The new patter on them makes them look like they have worms or somesuch. Also they dont tile as well as they did now. Please, revert back to the old style, before you go the way of johnsmith and do smoothestone that is not smooth
And the grass... Isnt that bad, just too smoothe. The older v3 version was better with its larger amount of noise in it. Please, revert back on this one aswell
Aside from that, its better than before. Just fix these two if you can :wink.gif:
Yeah, I know these things Oungawak. Except for the water lines. It's weird though, I didn't see them when I use it? I'll look more closely though. The stair UV map is horrible crap and should be fixed and there's not much I can do about it right now unless I mess up the regular cobblestone badly. And yes, I used a filter on a lot of the textures to make them look like that...I like it better because it looks less realistic. Any objections?
I like the new stone better so I'm going to leave it, but I can make the grass more grainy again.
Love the update, pistons look especially cool. However, I'll have to agree with unImaginative in that the smoothstone looks a bit odd. The engravings do look nice in some scenarios, but smoothstone should be almost universally applicable and as it is it looks strange in natural caves and on floors.
You haven't noticed it ? My screen resolution is 1680x1050, maybe the problem come from here. Those lines flash very shortly (~1 frame every 3 seconds) so it could be hard to see them.
Mine is the same resolution. I saw them now, it probably is that one frame is off by one or two pixels. I'll fix it!
Yeah I know, Mojang should definitely add a texture for the stairs. Or at least add one for half-blocks and use it for the stairs instead. Maybe we should add an idea to their support website ?
Yeah, do it. I will do it too. I think the sandstone slab and cobble slab should have their own textures for the sides too because they have the same issue.
Yes it's for me the most annoying thing. On some texture it looks good, but I think this is a bad idea on others. It give me an impression of 'poor quality/badly compressed PNG'. :sad.gif: For example, shadows are erased on some ornaments on the 2-blocks chest (they look flat), some details look 'translucid' ('circles' in the corners of the TNT texture, I bet one filter averages the colors), some highly detailed parts gets too blurry (Jack-O-Lantern), the colors of the 1-block chest looks like mold... Well, I think there is a problem. :tongue.gif: Again this is in comparison with the v3 textures. IMHO these filters (or at least some of them) only suits for 'raw' blocks like dirt, planks or sand, they look pretty cool.
I will edit "terrain.png" to restore some of the v3 textures that I clearly prefer. I hope I won't have to do that on futures releases, but it's your texture pack. :wink.gif:
Oh, and have you thought about using a custom HD font ? :smile.gif:
Alright, I might make some of the detailed textures like the chests and stuff revert back to the version 3 ones. Or at least be somewhere in between.
I tried HD font before the first release and for some reason it made the metrics get messed up. There was way too much and too little space between some characters. Any ideas?
Also made a map texture recently, I think it came out pretty good:
I love this pack so much, and I'm very glad I've found it. :tongue.gif:
There's just one issue, though. When I try using it, my FPS drops to nearly zero. I would blame it on my computer, but for whatever reason, if I have the coordinate info/fps rate info up, everything works fine and dandy like there no issue.
I am completely baffled as to why it's doing that. XD

I like it but there is some downsides.
Sugar Cane is blackened out so all you get is a black shape in your inventory.
Other than that it's a good pack.

Excellent Update Sevenfour, I continue to rely on your pack more and more =)
There are a lot of things about the way minecraft maps textures that I find highly annoying. For example, you can't have opaque textures for glass but you can for water and ice. Since I plan on learning java soon maybe my first mod will be for texture pack designers.

You mean that you can only have two-color alpha channels for anything that isn't ice and water? Yes, it's annoying, yes, a mod would probably be easy to make, I could probably make it. But I think it's a lot to ask people to download and use a mod just to use the texture pack correctly... the game should support higher depth alpha channels for all blocks by default and should support higher resolution texture packs by default.
You're probably going to feel like you can never please anyone when I say this but I liked it more with the more saturated brown, personally.
It's still my favourite texture pack, don't worry.

and very very nice texture pack imma get it!!
Maybe I should add this to the first post since it seems to have happened to multiple people?
And I'll probably update this weekend. The 64x version will be included too!

Are you using the 64x version already?
Ah, I forgot to mention that, yes. Maybe it has something to do with that?

Also, uhm, why did you post this in my thread?
