It has come to my attention while browsing around the internet, as I usually found myself doing, that a certain individual has created a site for hosing Texture Packs. While this is certainly not a problem in any way, the thing is that he is using advertisements (completing surveys) to gain capital from those certain texture packs that he has added (without the authors' permission) and even claiming them to be his own.
This is unacceptable and possibly illegal (I think). I'd ask everyone who's pack is on there to file a complaint (you can find his email in the "about" section).
I would suggest any pack author to add something along these lines as I have to their op as a measure against this kind of thing in the future.
This mod (plugin, a patch to Minecraft source, texture pack, henceforth "Mod" or "The Mod"), by the terms of http://www.minecraft.net/copyright.jsp is sole property of the Mod author (<your name>, henceforth "Owner" or "The Owner") or other authors by which material is being used with consent. By default it may only be distributed on minecraftforums.net, or other site The Owner personally posts it on. It may only be mirrored, re-posted,or have parts of it used in other Mods with advance written permission of the Owner. Electronic Mail is fine if you wait for a response. URL shorteners or other attempts to make money off The Owner's Mod are strictly forbidden without advance written permission.
edit: and thanks for the heads up btw Lilyo.. although this isn't the first time that site has popped up... it was up by a different name back when I first joined the forums.

keep in mind that's totally useless and just a deterrent... copyrights are automatic the second you make something...and you have to apply before you can use it in court.. but notices like that do scare people off.
Yeah, i know theres not much you can do but i though i should let you guys know about this.
Ive seen similar sites before but this ones only like 2 days old. Not sure what hes really trying to accomplish tbh
I doubt any Texture Pack crafter has OKed any of this to be honest. Actually his little popup gets blocked on my side so I don't get to see it. Does make navigating any of the packs useless.
You could also get a hold of the folks running BuddyHacker itself, as they looks seperate, though similar... painfully so, but their stuff is not "pay" but appears to be together in someway tho.
And yes you could spend a few hours screaming take down. I don't make texture packs, but I've been "griefed" to use the word. Took me five whole days, but after those five whole days, the bugger couldn't be on any of the forums he used to be--actually spent six whole months trying to beat the perma ban.
The email is not a real email btw, as the mail i sent him came back to me with an error.
He added another 2 texture too btw.

If your pack has been taken without permission, I suggest sending an email to them explaining the copyright violation and requesting they pull the site down.

This is the website below. Not sure if I'm blowing this out of proportion or not.

Curse PremiumPeople don't like other people ripping off of their work. Believe me, I just dealt with somebody who tried to claim my texture pack as his own.
