I want to make a space map and I'm going to make it so you can float (water). But, I don't want you astronaut-ing around in blue kool-aid. I changed the terrain.png so water is black, and I changed water.png in minecraft.jar to black too but it doesn't actually change how it looks. Do I need to change a different file? Is it permanently blue? Is it ok if I do all of this in Paint?
no you can not use paint, MSpaint breaks your png, it doesn't use transparency, as for the rest, I haven't made water that's not transparent, but black water wouldn't be very... useful, I think it's deadlocked to be semi-transparent.
The only way that i know of is to edit the Water transparancy in the actual minecraft.jar i have done this but it dosen't really work well. there is a mod that makes water seethrough though, but idk what it is.
