I've created a simple texture pack with one purpose: Make your surroundings invisible, minus several parts of the terrain that could pose a threat (or pose some interest). This includes:
Cacti
Monsters (and other mobs)
Mob Spawners
Moss Stone
Lava
Water
Clay
Pumpkins
TNT
Spider Web (for when it is added)
Soul Sand
Glowstone
Mushrooms
Everything in the terrain.png not named here is invisible.

Also, as it ignores dirt, sand, and stone, yet sees moss stone and spawn block, it is invaluable as a dungeon finder.
