Okay I want to put this here so maybe people will see it and spread the word.
If not, oh well, I tried.
There's a mysterious new texture next to melons and under cake in the terrain.png in 1.9 pre-2.
Now many may have no clue what this is. But! If you follow Jeb on Twitter, you may have seen this tweet.
"Potions are delayed because *add to cauldron, pick up, look at tooltip, pour back into cauldron, repeat* was extremely tedious"
I can only assume that it is the cauldron that he speaks of and will be used to make potions.
Now, looking at the 4 squares that seem to make it up, the top left is the top of the cauldron, top right is the bottom, bottom left is the sides and bottom right is the bottom.
I assume that the bottom of the cauldron and bottom of the sides are similar to the bed, that is transparent except for the legs, and I assume that the inside is hollow and will appear similar to the Enderman when it opens its mouth.
So if you know someone with a TP that has no clue what the strange black texture is in the terrain.png, send them here.
Thank you for your time.
Is this important enough for a thread? I mean, it doesn't exist in game yet, so....
Wow, just found out several TP's I liked have been abandoned.
/sadface
But I guarantee you all that I will never leave my 4 packs to rot.
Maybe a reply every once in a while would be nice too?
Don't worry mate, you have MY full support; NES Zelda's the granddaddy of the whole series, and it is heartening to see the texture being so faithful to the game (yes, I imagine it wasn't exactly hard to do most of the terrain, heh heh :biggrin.gif:). Also, I freakin' love the skin that you made of Link! ^[]^

The True Enemy of Humanity is none other than Fear. Indeed, we can only break our Eternal Curse by sparking the Fiery Will of every single Person in this World. No exceptions~!

Yeah, not to hard since all the terrain in NES games seems to be 16x16 blocks.
Although there are some things I had to get creative with.
And if you like the Link skin, check out the link in the OP it has 3 different versions in it.
I need to put them in the next version.
The GUI is based on the spell selection menu from Zelda II, in my opinion it looks pretty sexy.
Only part not done are the main menu buttons. Still playing around with them.
I am really considering changing the cobblestone to what I mentioned earlier, mainly because now that I'm looking at my house I'm building with it, it kinda looks retarded when stacked.
It works great for dungeons and when you only use it as like a frame, but as a full wall, looks silly.
Since Notch is talking about another pre release tomorrow I'll throw an update up Thurs or Fri if anything new is added.
Also going to add my alternate Link skins into the pack.
Okay, that wasn't so bad, only weird things are a couple of electric-y textures in the terrain png. And the strange white cobblestone. Yeah.
Update will be Friday to add 1.9 Pre-3 support, It will have the enchanter and white cobble done, the rest not to sure about. And the GUI will be finished.
Okay this is my battle plan to combat the weekly Pre-Releases.
The next update to this pack will be on the last full week of October, after that weeks pre-release if there is one.
The update after that will come after MineCon.
The Mario pack will be updated at the beginning of November.
My other packs, since they don't have to constantly have new blocks added to them to keep them up to date, will update whenever I feel like it.
Heads-up, Dragons are going to be differently colored Aquamentuses from Zelda I.

Aye-aye, Captain Master-At-Arms~! On a (slightly) more serious note: Hot damn, it must be a pain to contend to update for Lord knows how many times every week, eh? =)
P.S. The GUI, which you expressed is based on Zelda II's system is indeed sexy, but JUST as a very minor nitpicking, if it can be called like that... Isn't this Texture Pack of strictly plain ol' LoZ? Zelda II is technically legit, of course; they are literally a set of games that have the same Link and GENERAL tone of graphics and whatnot. So yeah. Nitpickings... ^=^

Well it kinda is supposed to be for both NES games, hence the title, but it did start as just for the first Zelda.
Then I realized there weren't enough textures in the first one for everything.
And just between us the ice and melon are from Ice Climbers and a lot of the Aether mod textures are from Kid Icarus.
But I think I'm going to drop the Aether mod stuff since they haven't updates since 1.7 I believe.
Although some of the stuff I did for it I will save somewhere, in-case I ever have need of it.
I changed Pigmen to resemble Moblins, and by extension Pig Zombies and Pigs are Moblins also.
Mainly so Villagers would be more different from the Pigmen.
I need to start on Villagers, suggestions for the colors of their clothes for each type?
They either going to be the wisemen from Zelda 1 or different villagers from Zelda 2.
And I hope that LukeRay will put up a new version of his skin viewer soon so I can show you high quality images of the mobs, like this!
Edit: oops, imgur changed the positions of the image links.
Edit 2: Also Snowmen are Blue Wizrobes, because.
Fun fact: Before I started doing the skin, I would have bet money on saying Aquamentus has wings. No, really, I thought it did.
I don't have picture because 1: I don't know how to make one spawn, and 2: I haven't slept in since Monday on account of Arkham Asylum (Which is incredibly good by the way) and am in desperate need of sleep.
Heads up though, the ender aquamnetus skin looks linda drab because it's in greyscale, I'm pretty sure future dragons will look more lively.
I'm going to assume that there won't be any more pre-releases.
If that's the case I'll put up the next version of Friday.
I finished the last couple of GUI things that weren't done, did a couple mobs, and a few items.
And then we wait for the next major update. And Assassin's Creed. And Mario. Zelda too.
EDIT: Oh yeah and there's like 5 alternate Link skins in the mob folder. I remembered finally to put them in.
Even though there doesn't seem to be any new content for me to work my editing magic upon, I'm holding off on the update for a few more days because, NEW POLL!!!
And unlike the last one this one is important to the pack's content. So vote now!
If I do change the textures, they're going to be changed to a similar texture to Obsidian, because that block looks sexy, and Obsidian regardless of the other blocks changing is getting a new more mineral like texture.
And if I can get my lazy ass to search for a good reference image, I'm giving Iron Doors the Wooden Door texture and making a new one for Wood based on the doors in villages in Zelda II.
And Soul Sand has a new texture, and as soon as I can find something I like, mushrooms and huge mushrooms are getting a redo. I've stopped liking the Like-Like textures for them.
For the last few months I've had this nagging feeling that the cloth and brick textures looked "off".
I could never quite place what was wrong.
Earlier while I was adjusting the colors on the cloth and other blocks, I finally figured it out.
I've had 2 of the colors on the wrong parts of the block the whole time.
I feel really dumb right now. This will be fixed in the next update, and they look much better now.
Paint can't do transparency. The eraser just paints white over the area. My advice to you, Jaimze, is to go and get something good. Like Paint.net
And there are 14 new items...
Please tell me I'm just sleeping.
*whimper*
