lil_jening asked me for permission to update my pack. Since this seems to be the primary up-to-date version of gerudoku, I figured I should post my answer here on the record.
As yall have probably noticed by now, I've pretty much dropped out of the minecraft community. I had hoped to come back after things settled down a little IRL, but life had other plans. Also, truth be told, I'm kind of burned out on minecraft and probably won't have any desire to pick it up again for months. It's hard to make yourself spend time modding/texturing for a game you don't play anymore.
Fortunately, people like you are doing a great job of carrying the torch. When I started editing GERUDOKU, it was because nobody else was making the kind of texture packs/compilations that I wanted to use. Now there are dozens of capable artists and compilers who can do the job just as well as I ever did. It was getting to the point where "updating" just meant waiting for somebody with more skills to post their new textures and then copying them in without editing anything. It's no longer my game.
In short, I'm not needed here anymore. I say that with relief. It's been really gratifying to see how the texturing community has developed and embraced gerudoku-style compilations in a spirit of sharing and creativity. At this point, I am happy to throw in the towel, confident that others with more time and talent will take over and do a fine job of it.
I have given lil_jening permission to continue updating the pack (apparently that's required here now?) and I also encourage anyone else who wants to make their own variation to do the same, as long as they do their best to give credit where it belongs. (Including and updating the credits.rtf file I maintained should be good enough.) People PM me all the time asking if they can "use my textures", but in most cases they aren't mine to give. I would ask, though, that nobody claims that their continuation is the "official" gerudoku update. If I ever come back to minecraft, I'll be the one to do that ;]
Maybe there should be one big thread for all the dokuRPG and gerudoku-based compilations, sort of like my old thread had become. I'll leave that up to you all to work out. My old thread should probably be locked/archived/whatever, because that ship has sailed. I can't be bothered to figure out how to do that on this new forum layout, so if any mods are reading this, be my guest!!
Thanks for all your patience and support. Keep digging.
I really like the gerudoku-style texture packs and yours is good and you where quick about 1.6 BUT you forgot about the dead scrubs in deserts and atleast for me lava, fire and water does not animate
Use the new patcher. Yea sorry I forgot the desert shrubs. Jeb didn't tweet about that one. I will update when I get home. 3 EST.
Any chance of putting one together where all the grass is the same shade of green
I have already. Unzip the gerudoku and you'll see the "terrain anti biome.png"
Change the "terrain.png" to a different name.
Next change the "terrain anti biome.png' to "terrain.png" and re-zip the file.

well Tombones, we are gonna miss ya your pack was da best :biggrin.gif:
I have a question, how would you go about editing this. I mean it's pretty much fine the way it is, however there's some elements I'm not a big fan of, like the glow stone, the juke box and the sand. How would i go about changing those out and making it work. I tried just now and it was a dud..heh. Anywho, aside from that, great job.

Thank you so much Lil_Jening for keeping this texture pack alive!
This has always been my favourite, and I got a bit sad when I noticed
that both Tombones, and danscottbrown had quit or atleast stopped updating at the moment.
Once again thank you, I wish there was anything I could do, besides voting the post up.

Thanks for trying it! And thanks for the link to the new mc patcher. I will update the post soon.

It works for all of the 1.6 line... i just do 1.6.4 for more clicks.

OK This texture pack is not compatible with the sky world generator. it will just say this.
Actually it is... I just Tested it.
I have noticed a small bug with the sword:
Yeah, I'm a bit of a perfectionist. If you have time please fix it =D
EDIT: This also happens with a pick
You have done something wrong. :/ I don't know what though.
