I haven't yet changed the leaves textures or figured out how to make the grass so it isn't green, but I'm working on it. I definitely plan on making it more "post apocalyptic." Thanks for the feedback.
You're pretty good. follow my signature if you want to join a texture pack group. as for the grass, if you want it NOT green, take the top left corner of the terrain.png and change the color to what you want (eliminates the biome grass) and the grass fix too, same colors (under iron block) as for if you WANT it biome colored, just make it greyscale. doing great work though. I suggest making the leather armor like the vault 101 security armor
Thanks, I will definitely make it 101 armor. But your directions kind of confuse me :tongue.gif: Here's my terrain file:
I didn't make it green, but maybe Minecraft considers that tan in grayscale? I dont know.
I can fix it for you maybe, but I need to know what you want. do you want your dirt to change with biomes (most likely will be greenish) or stay tan? and what exactly is the problem? Also, I'm removing a few of your un-needed blocks, like the old redstone.
Also, if you want to join a group of texture pack makers, click this thing right below this sentence and apply. You'd surely be accepted
Well I'm not really sure what I want. A lot of my pack is just making a block/item and going into the game and actually testing it out, this is my first pack after all. So I dont know, but having grass green definitely doesnt go with fallout. Do what you want with the terrain and show me, if you wouldnt mind. Thanks for all your help :smile.gif:
Alright... look at all of those little pink squares there in the picture you have above. They are the same as beneath the grass so.. my guess is you forgot to replace the real "dirt" with a new picture. This is one thing I can see, though I've never made a texture pack or anything.
FINALLY!! A FALLOUT PACK THAT DOESNT LAG MY COMPUTER UP!! i love this pack, and am a huge fallout fan. (i have all of them) so just ask if you need an idea.( just make sure to include me in credits if i give you one.)
No offense, but there's WAAAAYY too much color in this pack. The Fallout series is centered more on dull colors like brown, gray, dull green, etc etc...
The bookshelf needs serious work (colors are too strong), and I can understand that you don't know how to deal with the grass being green... in the minecraft.jar, there's a folder called "misc" and you should find a file called "grasscolor". That should help you a bit.
But, since this is your first release of the pack, I'll give you my sandwich of approval.

I seriously hope this is more a joke than anything...From what I see, the colors are spot on (as much as you can in MC). Just a couple things that need fixing....Having played ALL of the Fallout franchise...I can tell you they all had plenty of color still. And I'm sure Mista doesn't really want a Hershey's Chocolate texture pack. Which is what he'll get if any more color is removed.
:biggrin.gif:
I took a look at your terrain.png and tweaked it a bit. Here's the terrain.png fixed for the side grass. I just added the original grass (needs to be gray to work with your biomes), and the dirt (dirt and grass had the same texture which made it look weird), and added the gray side grass without the pink included.

Oh my. This pack went from about 300 to 800 downloads while I was in school today. I guess thats what I get for putting it on the texture pack central list. Keep the downloads coming, and be sure to check back often!
This looks awesome.
Although the bricks don't really fit... Maybe you should change them to be something like iron fences/corrugated iron with rust for shacks or something.

First, the bookshelf is full of colors because all the books are meant to be pre-war books, which are very colorful and all the colors I used as the books on the shelf I made sure that they were pre-war book colors from the Fallout games. Also, the grass has to be green unless you use an HD fixer.
I would suggest the zombies to be raiders and the skeletons to be ghouls. Ghouls are much skinnier and you can easily see their ribcage, and zombies are more human shaped. Only problem would be that ghouls can shoot arrows and raiders can't but I think this can easily be made into an amazing mod/texturepack/map mixture. Now if only there was a way to include a deathclaw

heh. I laughed at the Chocolate thing.
I kind of like the side grass matching the top grass, because it makes it seem like all the blocks are connected somehow. But if you dont like it maybe Ill release an optional download with your sidegrass or mine only different. And Ive been playing around with the grass and the grasscolor.png to try and get the landscape look something like this:
but the ground may look kind of weird with that lighter color. So I made it a darker color that at least looked fairly good for now.
Also in this post Ill say that right now Im at 1,159 downloads! Its insane! Thanks everyone for the support!
One more thing: v1.6 is coming out soon, and do you guys think that this iron sword is good or should I try something different?
its supposed to be a bumper sword, but kind of looks like a demented iron sword.
PLEASE comment on what you think to help me. I dont really know if I like it or not.
One suggestion i have is to change the paintings maybe you could have more vault boy pictures and less preferably no ads for the fallout series. most people downloading this will be avid fallout players but great start on an awesome texture pack. also maybe make leaves dead branches.
also i don't know if it is possible but you might be able to make the armor a percent eg 50% equalls 5 armor pics obviously.

Do you think there is a way to make it longer? because thats what I see is the real problem is that the sword is too short. If you could make it longer you have more room to design it

Well I just did the edit. Not that I disagree with your concept of the side grass. Just added back in the original as a fix.
:biggrin.gif:
You can add the whole side grass texture (the one you created) to the one that the biomes change and make it grayscale. Then the biomes you change the dirt part the same as it does the grass.

I certainly made it bigger, but it was already 16 pixels high and would go into the armor item or something if it went any higher. I think I prefer this one more, but its still up for discussion.
Dude cool pack u got going, some of my ideas are make mushrooms or mushroom stew into radaways and make tnt look the best you can for a nuke, and i would make zombies mutants (that way if someone spawns a giant itd b a behemoth) and skeletons ghouls. Also the srapmetal is good for flowers but i would use it for iron ingots, that just me. for armor id use leather for lucas simms outfit, iron for like the vault 101 police plp and diamond for power armor, (sorry i havnt played fallout in forever) but like the fallout guys in the citadel. as for possible mobs, maybe make sheep into mirelurks and ducks into boatflys and also for creepers it could b glowing ones, BTW if not try adding Yoa Gui, (the bears) and Deathclaws cause they are cool
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
