my idea is only a start, so please post some ideas or suggestions for now I only plan to work with the original resolution but once i get the hang of it i may start doing hd texture packs. for now i will stick to 1 pack. also i am looking for a less corny name so please thow me ideas for that too. my idea is to have create a ttexture pack that gives minecraft the old western look. but please suggest me a compleatly different idea if you want and I might like it better.
i guess il be going western if no body objects. also im finding it hard to figure out if there are any programs for minecraft that will let me keep every item and block as its own file or in mutiple files. mostly to allow work in segments also is there any software thats desinged to making new textures where i can view and edit the texture of a item or block in 3d if so that would greatly help if its a plugin fo photoshop that would work too
just copy each block to a separate file or layer. make sure if you save it to a png for use in-game to test it, save it as a psd first so your layers remain editable.

thats true...
but i will have a hard time deciding on how to fix wood... if only i had java skills XD i would compleatly change the workbench for a anvil XD but that would only work if i had java skills thanks for the idea though but the general idea was for convienience of having the area of the item set
and btw..a western theme is a good idea...several have been started and I don't think any have been completed, or just stopped being worked on at all.
also...check the artist's guild link in my sig, the website's purpose is to help with texture modding, and you will probably get more detailed help/better help.
thanks i should check those unfinished abandoned ones out see if any have anything that might help or even be worth trying to put into mine and i will check the guild out too
I would absolutely love to see a cowboy/pioneer craft (my way of saying old west) I dont think ive seen any one do it, and if they have it probably didnt get too far. feel free to ask us any questions always willing to help out no matter what it is :biggrin.gif: good luck on this hope you make a western pack
thanks lol im probably going to try and start by retexturing items because they are much easier to work with since most blocks work on multiple textures. then i will possibly begin on a reskin on the liquids lava and water texture made me want to claw my eyes out since i first played minecraft (no offence to their creator they are good but just not something I enjoy personaly) then i will begin on blocks such as brick wood and work my way to trees and abnormal textures
you can do some amazing things with custom water/lava animations... it involves patching even for 16x..but it is sooo worth it in the end.
i think il begin with finishing the actual texture before rea animation but if i do go to the point I need to patch it you can say goodbye to your work bench and hello to an anvil
my computer still seems to be demonstrating against videos XD i swear its abnormal especialy a pc build especialy for hardcore usage yet 4000$ later and a 10000 trips to the alienware webpage for support it treats me like this
well i did a shut down to run some updates since my computer seemed to be getting a overload of pending updates so when i get home il be able to possibly update my java client and hopefully view the videos also for the gold bar i figured i should replace it with a gold nugget. but i still need ideas for akot of other things

as far as im concerned i have not broken any rules considering its currently only a idea and not an actual work in progress
