Hello world!
Today I am presenting a remake of an ancient texture pack, which has not been well taken care of. I always loved that texture pack, and I felt I HAD to do something about it. Now, some may call it stealing, or whatever, since I changed the name, but, well, considering that the author did not take care of his texture pack anymore, it is only normal that I should strike against him to. I've now got the ultimate permission to hack and slash into his texture pack as I wish, from the author himself, putting an end to this problem.

So what did I change?
Not much:
I changed the dog skin
I changed the water, which was the weak point of his pack.
I simply update the files from it's 1.3 stage, to 1.6.6
I modified his tnt and the player character, which now bear the official Trebze Corp Seal.
I also changed the skins of the monsters. The authors of those skins are:
Skeleton by: Hal9000
Spider:Cetus Amicus (took it from his gloocraft texture pack, then revamped it a tiny bit.)
Creeper:emorockerz
Zombie:guren23
I feel I might be flamed about how little I did, so I admit loud and clear, that I did nothing much to change the pack. After all, I want to keep the spirit of the pack.

I've fixed a few bugs in the skin, such as invisible wool, and added a personal dog skin, and also home made retexture of the booster rails. Here are a few pics:

I really like the black dog with a yellow collar.

He looks sweet, if you made it a green collar he could be like a photo negative if you know what i mean.

Did you at least...get permission to do this?

Thanks to ob56 and byakuya for the encouragments, but most was done by Tungsten, I remind. Although, I did do rails and dogs x).

I don't mean to be flaming or plagiarizing you, but you know that you're for all tense and purpose stealing. You said so yourself.
This could be seen as a compliment or an utter insult. I can't know how the original artist would feel. Obviously it has been a long time since he last updated, ok, true. But you also could have messaged him privately and asked for permission instead of just going ahead and doing as you please with someone else's hard work. It just seems like you didn't consider anything but your own feelings in this.

I'm just concerned, as an artist myself. I also hope this doesn't end badly. Maybe he'll be glad someone picked up after him. Maybe he'll be pissed and try to get you banned. I guess you just have to deal with whatever comes of this.

Just do yourself a favour, and don't answer valid questions with "but I said I credited him", because stealing is still stealing and if the original artists feels wronged then you'll have more to answer to than criticism from other users.

Also he stole Notch's birch tree texture, he can only pay back for stel..
Wait, don't other people do this stuff? It actually looks nice and I'm glad it was updated, even if you stole it's still pretty cool.

Thanks to those who support, and to answer to this problem of right or not right, I have asked a permission to do what I am doing, to the author of the Tungsten Texture Pack. I believe that what Miyu said is not completely wrong.

Just to point out again, I was and am not flaming this thread. I was merely pointing out the facts from other perspectives.

@ Cheato97: I'm going to assume you're new to minecraft and/or texture packs, see when you make your own, you can't always finish every single texture at once, so what you do is leave the default till you can get to it. Simple. That's not stealing that's just not finished. If you don't leave the default for your unfinished work, you would get blank holes or funny coloured spots without the defaults. x3


Anyway, I really hope everything turns out for the best for all parties involved in this pack. ^^

I have updated to 1.6.6. The grass, the water the redstone have been changed a bit (I had to change the redstone torches because it wasn't practical, to tell where they were on the delayers). That's about all I have to say.
