~A Modification of Dokucraft for the IndustrialCraft Mod~
Alpha 1.0: Warning
1. This texture pack is for Industrial Craft, you must have Industrialcraft installed to use this.
2. This pack is currently under heavy construction, and only the blocks have been completed, You will not be able to download this texture pack until I have finished the GUI elements for each of the machines.
3.Doku contacted me, and This will not be available until I am given the go ahead by him.
About:
After playing with Industrial craft after the 1.4 update I was really really impressed (and still am) however after upgrading my textures since the update, the IndustrialCraft Machines didn't fit in, especially the ores.
So being the pixel artist that I am I decided to modify the pack thinking to myself "I'll just change the ores"
Needless to say I got carried away, and now this exists.
As you will be able to tell, there is cannibalized material from Dokus set. This is to make sure that it fits in with his texture pack. However there is ALOT of original material here from myself.
Installation instructions will go up when the first release goes up.
As an aside, if Doku or Alblaka as me to cease my work, I will immediately. This is after all a modification of material from both authors.
Please remove any Dokucraft textures from this pack....If you'd asked permission in the first place then you wouldn't have to be doing this as I would of said no :smile.gif:.
Read this quote from the Dokucraft front page :
'As this is still very WIP I would appreciate if no one copied or used my textures in their packs until this is a full release'
As it's not for download yet, your work with my modifications is not available. And it will remain that way until I get a green light from you.

What if doku changes the textures of certain blocks that also are included in your mod pack. it would make you work more best you just leaving this completely till doku removes the embargo to texture editors on this texture pack.

Thanks for the concern RideLamas, but I will keep working on this release or no release so that it is ready as soon as Doku lifts said embargo :smile.gif: I would like others to be able to use matching industrialcraft textures ASAP since Dokucraft is so popular.
Besides, if I am updating alongside his updates. then maybe I will get a High Fantasy and Default version done anyway!
Doku ought be very pleased that his new pack is so important that fans deem it worthy of their time to expand upon it for our community's most popular mods. :biggrin.gif:

It's my hope to that he is proud, but I do respect his work and will only release this publicly once he is ok with it.
Keep your ear to the ground. This will be around and growing until it's finally allowed to be released.

These look awesome and when doku lets people edit his work i cant wait for this, just a couple of questions though.
Will this only be for 1 of the textures or will you be making versions for all his different packs?

Good questions!
I will try to do both Default and High Fantasy versions. I cannot guarantee, so don't get your hopes up.
There will be quite some time before Doku releases permissions I guess. so there will be alot of time for me to potentially get all variants done.
Keep in mind that all versions will looks slightly grittier than the set it goes with. such is the way with machines. (at least in my minds eye)
And as for other mods. Another potential one. I am likely only to mod the.. mods.. that I actually play. But if my work is popular enough I may be convinced to change some other popular mods to match.
Right now the only mod I play with extra blocks is Industrial craft, so I have no motivation to work on others. Especially while I am still working on this one :smile.gif:
But! keep an ear to the ground. I'm a long standing member, and I am likely to stand even longer :wink.gif:

yes the objects are more my own work than they are his, but they still use his art. I would do the same for any of you.

Rorax is respecting his rules, he hasn't released and has said he won't until Doku gives the green light.

How about Rorax goes about creating his own textures? He wouldn't have to wait for permission and he would be credited for producing something that is actually original.

I'm not being disrespectful here, but it looks like rorax has merely trimmed a few textures from dokucraft and "stitched" them with another set from another texture pack. If you examine some of the textures carefully, this actually looks like the case.
rorax's intention may seem noble, but we should respect doku's view on this remix and other remixes in general, considering the textures in use are derivatives of his own hard work....

Correct. I wouldn't have made the mistake of posting in the first place if I had read the rules thoroughly in the first place, this is indeed my fault and I have already apologized. And I'm not sure that your aware of this but this is not a remix of your work either. This is a mod retexture to insure that those using 1. Dokucraft and 2.Industrialcraft have textures to fit. these do not replace your original work in any way. they only borrow elements from the original sprite sheet in order to achieve consistency.

These points aside Doku, I am not trying to make excuses for why you should let me release this. However I do feel a level of respect from you around this would not go amiss, as I have attempted to respect your right as an artist.
As you are very well aware by now, especially from your poll about handling 'remix' packs, mods are not exactly active on this particular section of the forums, and getting this thread locked at the very least would be hell and high water.
SO I ask you to at least be happy with the fact that I have for all intents and purposes "locked" it myself.

Eh, that didn't make sense and it completely irrelevant.
