RPG Maker 2k and 2k3 are illegal in North America because you need to have purchased them for them to be legal, and Enterbrain had a specific policy against distributing them to North America due to the rampant piracy of RPG Maker 95. At the release of RPG Maker XP, and subsequent release of RPG Maker VX, they realized there was a market for it and sold them here (I believe they were each $60USD which resulted in the graphics being owned by anyone who bought the software and legally usable in any medium.)

So what are you saying exactly? I'm not sure what you are trying to tell me. I was under the impression that the textures that I found were from the game Chrono Trigger, and it seems that I was incorrect in that assumption. They still fit in with the theme of the game though and look good with everything else in the texture pack.

I think he is saying that the stuff in the picture he posted is illegal for us, I think you're okay. RPGmaker is a program that anyone with a pc can use to make their own rpg game, there once was a vast collection of these types of games, but the community kinda fell apart. Now you can find some games on a few odd sites that stayed up, and forums where users request games and anyone who happens to have a copy on their pc might share it.

No one using a creeper avatar has ever posted anything worth reading.
Fact.

What I am saying is that the usage of those textures is illegal. Are you going to be hunted down and charged? No, of course not. I was bringing to light the fact that they were not from Chrono Trigger, but from RPG Maker 2k/3 and should be credited properly.
What likely happened is while searching for Chrono Trigger textures, you found a chipset made for RM2k/3 that had some Chrono Trigger tiles slapped on top, which was common to do.

Yes, that's exactly what happened, I have a whole folder on my computer full of Chrono Trigger stuff and I must've gotten confused as to what was actually from that particular game and other chipsets that were being circulated around the forums I visited. Thanks for pointing out my error, I have edited my opening post to reflect this error, and thanks for your quick response.
This is the best texture pack I've seen and used. The only problem I have is that I constantly get mixed Stone and Cobblestone mixed up. >_<
Is there a way to swap those two textures?

Go in with a simple program like paint and drag each item to the others spot.

Cool, I was thinking about doing that actually, but wasn't sure if I needed a more complex software. :tongue.gif:
Thanks for the info. :happy.gif:
Edit - I've tried on paint and it just breaks it. Nothing is transparent and is white or black. Hopefully I can find something else to edit it.
I even made it transparent with Photoshop through the online tool (http://pixlr.com/editor/) and it didn't stick.

I can do a quick swap of just those two textures for you, I'd rather not make that change to the texture pack as a whole though. Cobblestone should me man-made, and the straight lines of that texture make sense to me as being a man-made texture, whereas the stone should appear random and natural. That's why I picked those out the way I did.
But as I'm not particularly busy at the moment, I did a quick swap just for you. Thanks for your support, and liking this texture pack.
Pretty cool pack. Very similar to my own Chrono Trigger texture pack [Link]. I haven't uploaded all of my textures to it (like my GUI) but if you want to use stuff from it, that's fine by me.

Are you serious? That is so awesome of you. When I do it and get it together, I'll be putting your name in the credits for sure!
How are you with making the 2d armor into 3D wearable types? I really have a hard time with that. So even though I like what they look like, I haven't finished them since I first released this.

i'm a big fan of chrono trigger games. i absolutely love the idea of a texture pack for each of the ages. the only thing that could make it better is if you added millenaire support. if you made skins of the npc characters it could work.
This is the issue that I just fixed with the pack. As everyone knows the chests now open and close, this involves an entirely new set of graphics that are a good deal different from the original images on the terrain file. I thought that I had it completely figured out when I updated all of my packs. But I noticed a certain glitchy-ness on some of them.
So if any of you are texture pack makers yourself and don't know about this, the bottom lip and the top lip of the chest need to match because they actually overlap, and if they don't you will have the same problem that I did.
Well it has been fixed, the chests now look and work perfectly. :biggrin.gif:
...do you update during pre releases or does it need to be the official update?
Most often I update as soon as I get a pre-release, I like to be ahead of the game if possible. Right now that means all 6 of my texture packs have as much of the material that has been shown by the pre-releaase to be in 1.9. I've also begun to look into making mod compatibility a feature of my texture packs. As of now it isn't much, I've just added ore textures and for some a few furnace GUIs for Proloe's SteamCraft mod.
Finally, all of my texture packs are complete in that they have full playability in Minecraft, but they are all also subject to me spontaneously adding to them or adjusting things. And as always I always appreciate bugs or glitches being pointed out, and suggestions are welcome.
(I guess this post makes "70" and I'm now a Stone Miner!)
EDIT: NOW Updated to include everything from Beta 1.9 pre-release v2.
