First off, wow! That netherrack is delicious! And about the iron/gold, idk. Maybe it's just because they are all the same shape, which I rarely see you do, so they look more similar than I am used to. It's fine though.
Yeah...I was feeling lazy, so I made all the non-special ores have the same shape. But I think they look a lot better than the old ones. The old coal, in particular, tended to bother me-- I kept thinking that it looked like a bear holding up its fist...
Excellent work, Steelfeathers! a few more and we wil be back in business.
I am so ready for this pack to be up-to-date and finally presentable. No more having to hide my face in a paper bag when someone uses this pack in a vid/screenshot!
I've played for a while with the pack, looking around my builds with it and overall, it's great. You've perfectly encapsulated the historical aspect of the pack, the arid colours really place in you parched Rome, great work.
The detail on some of the blocks is simply astounding, though simple. The chiseled stone brick and sandstone in particular are very appealing, as is the dirt texture, which I've fallen in love with (can I marry it, pretty please). I do have a few suggestions though, either for a customiser or to be changed generally.
- Although I understand your stylistic choices with the grass the tiling isn't quite there, but the concept is great.
- Same with the stone, the idea of a swirly stone is lovely and once more fits the theme but the tiling doesn't really work well, the dark swirl is a shape error I think.
- The planks are brilliant, my only gripe is that I think the jungle and spruce planks could be a little more different, perhaps the spruce should be slightly desaturated and darkened.
- In addition with the planks, the default oak ones are, sorry to say, ugly. Juxtaposed with the smoothness of the rest of the pack they look out of place. I haven't played AC in a while and it may be a perfectly justified fathiful-to-the-game based decision but it doesn't work for me.
All in all however, this is inspirational.
Thanks for the detailed feedback! I love reviews like this. (Sometimes I want to get paid in long reviews rather than adfly clicks, haha)
-Perhaps I've just had this pack around for so long that I've gotten used to them, but the tiling issues with the grass and stone don't really bother me (I don't tend to use stone in large groups anyway). I'll see what I can do about evening out the grass, however. The stone I'm a little afraid to touch for fear of messing it up, though I'll play around with that too.
-Noted. I'll change up the spruce planks to make them more different and interesting.
-Oh yes, my old oak planks. You hit the nail on the head when you guessed that they were a direct asscreed reference-- I saw planks just like that everywhere in Brotherhood. I'm a little torn about the oak planks. I think they look great in slum-type city buildings, and I really like how they can be used for rougher projects (such as boat docks), but just in normal use they are a bit strange. I tried making a smoother version with the same design and colors, but that looked even more bizarre, if possible-- like rough planks without the roughness, if that makes sense. I may have to try creating new oak planks from scratch and see where that gets me. Any possible references would be welcomed, if you have any to offer.
PS: I now pronouce you man and dirt. You may kiss the soil.
ok, so I'm currently in Venice and just maneged to get a decent internet contection... When I found out that you'd updated the pack... well... That face...

(same piazza)
Here's your peek (peak?... whatever..). (I had to remove some (alot of) images due to them being family photos and whatnot)
ps.
I also went to Rome last year... and I have ALOT of pictures (i hope, new pc... may have lost some..)
So yeah... I'll be sure to upload what I have (that does not infringe the privacy of my family)
pps
I'll be sure to go into more detail when taking photos tomorrow... That reminds me, I need to sleep... (It's 01:15 (night) here)

I'm also going to Slovakia and Croatia... I'll upload some architectural stuff if I find some... (ruins etc)

Okay, I'm really pissed off at the customizer site right now. Not only does my HD font STILL not want to upload correctly (keeps getting cut off), it's making the pack portrait too small!! FFFFFFFFF
Anyone know of any alternate/homemade customizers I could use?
If you want, you can replace the life bar with the one from assassin's creed 1. Image below:
By the way, armor health bar you made looks great
Here is the image. Health bar is in the top left corner. http://portforward.c..._small_0073.jpg

Retired StaffI probably will. I feel like I'm making a 32x version of painterly, since all the 32x textures I make seem to be interchangable in my packs.

When I'm texture emperor, those nasty old things will be burnt at the stake.
Live in fear.
Is this acceptable?
Not quite a red cactus, but oh well.

Ok, you've forced my hand. I downloaded it, but now I will get the snapshot, and review the textures. Just. For. You.
