I trust you know how to download and implement a texture pack (and that you remember to use the "HD patcher"). Also remember that this texture pack is last updated for 1.2.3, so if you're running a newer version, there will be glitches...
I'm thinking about making a wooden chest for the default chest, and then making the current 'red templar' chest into the enderchest. What do you guys think?
Can you keep hold of the old textures as well please? That way, when you've finished the pack, you can add them to the customiser.
I intend to. I'm also planning to do away with the two different downloads and simply have 'assassin' and 'renaissance' flavors on the customizer, so people can mix and match.
Hehe, it's not actually that spectacular, just a quirkly little thing I came up with that I think looks cool (and has to do with language too, go figure).
I tried to replicate the feel of the metal pillars in Desmond's 'memory hub' (or whatever it's called). Just flat metal didn't look so great, so I decided to go for a blue-gray metal-crystaline look. However, I'm a bit stumped for what to do for the ender portal. What do you guys suggest?
Complete redo of the lava (very much needed):
Bright, happy mushroom biome! Includes completely redone mushroom grass and red/brown mushrooms of the smallish variety.

Why you don't make the ender portal like that shiny stuff in the pic?

Endstone looks great. The flowing lava is incredible!

No no, I meant the portal blocks (where you insert the ender eyes) not the portal horizon itself. I'm already planning to make the portal horizon into that shiny blue stuff.

Thanks! Took me just about forever, but it was worth it. I now have a new default 32x lava. :3
Oh, and any thoughts on the wood-vs-red enderchest thing? (*points to post above lava*)
Thats easy, just make the portal blocks into some sort of slot or pedistal for a piece of eden. Or maybe make them into the material that all the 'ones who came before' used to create the fancy glowing rooms, like from the end of ac 2 and acb. As for the enderchest, something simular can be done. I don't think templars posses the tec to make a chest like the enderchest, but I bet the 'ones who came before' could have. Also, is there another term to use besides 'the ones who came before?' I feel like I'm in some bad RP
Oh, and any thoughts on the wood-vs-red enderchest thing? (*points to post above lava*)
hmmm I think it should work fine. The only concern I might have would be making the ender-chest look more powerful, and special. Very official even. I think you templar texture will work fine. OOH! maybe, just maybe, you could think about making those little golden chests you find all around the city? They could be good ender-chests. Feel free not to, the idea just came to me.
All of this looks great
Now... about the Ender-Chest: I think it should have a futuristic "those who came before" style, similar to what you're doing with all "The End"-stuff.
I basically agree with "srrylovesall" in that the Templars don't posess the technology to create such a thing. However one could argue that the chest is an "Animus-only" future, letting you save your stuff in an extended inventory. Then the appearance of the chest wouldn't matter so much, and it could be textured to blend in with the renascence era by looking like the chests on the rooftops in ACII or look like some sort of a Templar-ish thing, according to the lore of the game...
To sum up:
[a] it's futuristic/lost civilization-ish
[b] it "blends in" with the surroundings as an Animus future (like the puzzles hidden by Subject 16, you wouldn't know they were there unless you knew how they looked like and how to find them)
"futuristic look"
I know it's not a chest, but this is just for inspirational purposes
Different versions of a chest "Blending in"
=================================================================================
One more thing... Are you giong to change the obsidian and nether portal in any way? Maybe make em look like this? (by "this" I mean the overall feeling/colour-scheme, similar to what you have done with the nether and The End)
Anyway... what IS your plan so far regarding the obsidian, nether portal and the nether itself? Is it even possible to change the purple stuff in the nether portal?
All of this looks great

For the enderchest I definitely want to have an 'in-world' style, so I'm not going to make it futuristic. Only other dimensions (such as the nether and the end) will get that treatment.
Believe it or not, that red chest is the one I based the chest in this pack on. The chests scattered around AC revelations are more wooden and normal looking, though, so my thought was to make the boring wood chests into the normal chests, and make the red 'loot' chests into the enderchests. Although those gold ones would also work well-- they're very pretty.
Yes, I'm gong to change the obsidian. At the very least I want to give it a cleaner, more seemless stained glass look (without borders). I don't want it to be futuristic, though, because like the enderchests it can be found in the normal world, and I tend to use if for decorating as well.
At the moment I have no real plan for the nether portal, except perhaps to make it white cascading lines like those you see in the loading screens. The netherbrick is at the top of my list of things in need of a makeover, although I'm not quite sure what to do with it.
The nether portal should be those border lines (the ones that desynchronize you). It would make sense, because you'd go to abstergo when you go through
I already made the bedrock into the desynchronization lines, because if you go through bedrock you fall into the void and die. :]

Excellent idea! I think I'll do this, and turn the endereye into the Apple....

well, for the end portal block, u can make ender eyes like masyaf keys from revelations, and the ender portal block can be textured to look like the door to Altair's library, so it'll be like revelations where u put in the key to open the door, but in this case, u put in the keys to open a portal to another dimension.

I was thinking... why not making enderman like the humans controlled by Those Who Came Before, just like in "The Truth" video? ... I guess it's a bad idea tho >_<

eh...a bit too strange for me. If I ever get to endermin (which I probably won't) they'll probably just become some sort of shadow-stalker creature. There's only so far you can stretch the assassin's creed correlation, after all. Just look at mushroom biomes.
More progress for today:
Once again I tried to replicate the 'feel' of the door of Altair's library in the portal block. The endereye I tried to make look like one of the keys. Didn't turn out quite like I wanted, but then again it is difficult to try to get the look of a flat, round disk when using a square cube. Ores were badly in need of a makeover, as were those pitiful redstone torches. I've also edited the wools to make them richer and darker, but I didn't bother to throw them in there. Essentially I've been going around and giving practically everything a face-lift.
Oh, and I've also been working on the weapons too. The crossbow has been completely redone, and now has an animation!

I think the endermen should go along with the key theme somehow. Also, everything else is incredible! So, is the ore after gold iron? Because if it is,maybe you could give it more of a pinkish color so it looks less like gold.
Moar stuff. God I'm tired. But the good news is I only have the enderchest left to do before I'm all ready for 1.3 :]
Don't freak out-- the new netherbrick/glowstone/glowstone lamp is for the 'normal' version of this pack. For the animus version I'm using that gray program texture I made a while back for the netherrack, and turning the old metallic netherrack into the netherbrick.
On another note: I have absolutely no idea what to do for the netherwort, for either version. Thoughts?

I have no idea how you could mistake dull brown lumps for gold, but okay.

First off, wow! That netherrack is delicious! And about the iron/gold, idk. Maybe it's just because they are all the same shape, which I rarely see you do, so they look more similar than I am used to. It's fine though.

Thanks! I don't think this pack has made anyone cry before. ^^
