The new textures look great.
For the grass texture I say, stick with the new one (the old one looked "flat" if you know what I mean...
The new saplings are good, no complaining there, and the emrald block looks awesome! Looks kinda mysterious
(and I know just the right place to use em )
Now... we're all AC fans here so I thought I'd share with you my first youtube video.
I basically just muted the new trailer and put in a new song (from the HBO series "John Adams"). This song has been stuck in my head for about 2 days... And since it reminds me of AC III (and makes me look forward to the game) I made this:

What do you guys think?
I'm torn on the grass (and, from the comments, it seems like you guys are too). I like the style of the old one, but the tiling hurts my eyes. :0
Your texturing style has changed. The first one is better (higher quality texturing), but I think the second one fits the overall style of the pack better.
I normally don't like throwing the assassin symbol around, since it starts looking tacky, but I thought it was warranted on a block as rare and 'mysterious' as the emerald.
oohhh shiny! In other words well done, and am I right in inferring that this picture also means you might be keeping the old grass?
Yes and no. I took the old grass and edited it so that it tiles more smoothly. It's not perfect, but I personally don't find what little patterning there is to be distracting. I realized from the comments you guys made that the style of the old grass was preferred, but the smoothness of the (old) new grass was appreciated, so I tried to find a happy middle ground. I'm rather fond of it.
I also turned the saturation way down, allowing the grass to keep its dry, brownish tinge without being eye-searingly bright the way it was previously.
Absolutely lovely .
Is there an update including these new textures coming out anywhere soon?
You have once again done such an amazing job on these textures, and I'd love to make another video.
I could make it now, but if there's an update soon I'd rather wait.
Take your time, though.
With this pack you have once again proven that you're one of the best texture pack artist we have on here.
There is indeed an update coming soon, featuring what I've shown so far as well as many more improvements. I'm trying to get the update out before 1.3, so it should be coming soonish. I'd appreciate if you held off on any video until then.
Love this texturepack! I've got a question though, have you ever considered adding in custom lighting and fog? I don't know the exact name, but the kind like you'd find in the John Smith and the SMP texturepack.

I'd love to do custom fog for the nether (I hate the red color, blegh), but I don't really feel the need for custom lighting. Thanks for reminding me! I keep forgetting about little extras like that.
With work I don't have much time to texture, but I managed to whip up some new GUI and a font for you guys.
NOTE: Something quite....strange....happens when you mouse over the language button. It's almost as if there's some sort of glitch in the Animus.....

Oh, and I left a comment on the video.

Yup! I figured people could stack them in their market stalls, or use them in their bath houses, or scatter them around ancient ruins. :3
