EDIT: It's working just fine for me. *scratches head* But I went ahead and added a mirror link anyway.
oh yeah, the links there work fine. I was joking about conjuring up a link to a new version for 1.2.3 is all. No worries, the pre-release has most of the blocks. Just looking forward to whatever you come up with
YOU MUST HAVE THE HD PATCH INSTALLED TO USE THIS PACK. Otherwise your gold blocks will be on fire, the nether will look like water, liquids won't flow, fire will be replaced by an ugly red block, etc.
What's the difference between the Assassin version and the Renaissance version? A: The Assassin version contains textures unique to the Assassin's creed world. These textures, such as Abstergo nether and hand-hold ladders, work well for adventure maps, but maybe don't look so great for regular minecraft.
The Renaissance version is generic minecraft-- no futuristic textures or obscure references to the Assassin's creed game. You can think of it as merely a historical pack.
YES! Thank you!
BUT, yes there's a but...
The download for the AC version is not working for me (the other one worked fine)
While we can all agree that the wooden planks in this texture pack look good as flooring/roofs, they don't look so good if you try to build a ship (using planks only), at least that's my opinion... So when you update the pack to match the 1.2.4 update, which introduced different planks from different wood, maybe you could make the pine wood planks (from snow forest tree) be textured to look more like a ship hull (thick dark-brown vertical planks)?
Why the pine wood planks?
- they are dark
- ships were usually build by chopping down huge trees...
(Why not jungle trees? Well, simply because Jungles are a bit rare and because there aren't any Jungles in Europe (the texture pack is based of Rome/AC - not Africa (although AC in ancient Egypt would be awesome!))
So...
What do you think?

Inspiration?
You read my mind. I was thinking of doing something just like that. ^^
I've wanted to have nicer, cleaner wood for a while, and this definitely gives me the opprotunity. Although I must admit that I just about had a stroke yesterday when I realized that MC updated just after I released my own update of this pack.
Lately I've found myself on an impasse on what to do next on my project (MC CM). I have a bunch of ideas on what I want to achieve yet no idea where to begin... So I was traversing youtube, looking for inspiration, when I remembered a channel I subscribed to some while ago... Said channel is that of a musical group called Approaching Nirvana. So, needless to say, I was listening to their music while flying about my map. My imagination sparked and I am now inspired on what to do next
The reason I'm telling you this is because it occurred to me, given MC's constant updates, that you too were beginning to be a bit baffled on where to begin in your texturing and that you possibly needed some inspiration. Now, I have no idea what sorts of music you're in to, but truth be told I did not know I liked this kind of music until I found this channel.
Either way... I hope you have/find something to inspire you onwards http://www.youtube.com/user/ApproachingNirvana?feature=watch
ps. I'm from Norway so my English might be a bit off... For one, I'm not quite sure I used the word "baffled" correctly... ..anyway,.. you get my point... I think

Lykke til !
Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried it out, but I think I'm too low-culture for purely instrumental music, haha. I love me some pop and rock.
Maybe for the new types of decorative wood, you can make them the kinds of wood from the different asssassins creed games like wood from constantinople, rome, and florence. You can make the last one like what someone else suggested, good looking wood for boats

Retired StaffAlso, I've added a Renaissance version that has normal nether and ladders.
EDIT: Oh, and I changed the name of this thread to reflect the actual name of the pack. About time. It's only been months and months, after all.
YYEESSS!!! I finally get to use this!! WWWEEEEEEE!!!
EDIT: What's different about the new version?

Yeah.... I started to luagh a bit when I logged in after placing the texture pack in the folder
Patience, young one. Patience

Retired StaffOkay, added mirror links. Sorry for the wait-- the past few days have been pretty hectic.
Thanks for the suggestion.
