First of all, this texture pack is great! I moslty like it for the renesaince look.
I've seen the discusion going on about the Nether. I support the normal nether in wich you have these yellow like glowstones. They can be better used as lamps in the normal world instead of the blue glowstones. They just dont look renesaince like. Maybe you should upload both versions of your nether so people can choose.
It would also be great if the mobs like zombies and skeletons got a skin like the guards in assasins creed. Zombies beign brutes and skelotons archers.
Didn't notice the ladders, thanks :laugh.gif:
And I think holes in things that let light pass are just logical, other alternative textures would be cool.
I'll probably end up making an alt trapdoor anyway, so don't worry.
This is a great effort. I've been playing Brotherhood off on actually. I don't like it nearly as mush as AC2.
There are some things I'd suggest tweaking a bit though. You did say constructive criticism was alright.
-A number of blocks don't tile so well. Smooth stone and grass stand out as examples. I tried making a pack months back and just gave it up mainly because getting blocks to look good and tile (tessellation I think it's called) is very hard and time consuming. So I definitely feel for you there.
-The cobblestone doesn't play well with the smooth stone texture. Not much synergy. If you look at the first embedded video "Minecraft Sheep Production" without playing the video you see sort of a tower, The stone slabs are bright, the smooth stone under it works seamlessly with the slabs, then there's the cobblestone which is just dark. I think you should try lightening the grout and matching the brick's color with the slab's/smooth stone. Or even use a larger brick pattern.
-The ladder. The cool thing with Assassin's Creed is how well (and not so well) they do the climbing paths. Sometimes they blend so well with the building I find myself thinking, "Oh I can climb on that?" The climbing grips in the pack stand out to much I feel. There's a lot you can do with ladders actually and make them look like fixtures on the buildings. I took a screen shot before writing this just to give you some ideas.
Take a looksie-doo at that. Admittedly, I tried to find one of those circular water drain deals you can climb but couldn't find any in the short time I ran around. A line of circle windows would look kind of silly though and so would circular water drains when I though of it... but check out the edges of this building. Those white bricks. You can climb those and they add to the character of the building. A cool aesthetic option I'm sure some people would get a kick out of. There's those black metal fixtures you can climb. Plain jane stone ledges. Tons of things you can do with ladders. Tons of alternate texture possibilities for a lot of the other textures as well. That just gives you're pack more potential.
If anything, these are just ideas for you to play around with. You're doing a great job so far.
Before I go, you said you took reference photos with your phone. If you're using a Windows OS you can press the "Prt Scrn" key while ingame, alt tab to minimize the game, and paste it (ctrl+v) in something like Paint or your image editing program of choice. If you're on a Mac, I believe you have to ask the wizard's wife to pour a magic potion on your keyboard and recite the Apple mantra with one eye closed.

U NO LEIK BROTHERHOOD?! You heathen you. It's one of my favorite games.
Thank you for taking the time to give a thoughtful review.
--The square stone climbing ledge suggestion is a very good idea-- I've thought for a while now that the rosettes were kinda awkward, but I couldn't think of how to change them.
--The cobblestone is meant to stand out, so that people can make cool accent designs on their buildings. Yes, it may stand out a little more than other packs...but I kinda like it that way. :smile.gif:
--Yeah, on the large scale, the patterns in the smooth stone and the grass are kinda annoying. But then again, that's what cobblestone accents are for! lol. Also, if I tried to make the smooth stone tile better, I'd loose some of the swirly marble feel that I like about it so much.
--Lol again. I took pictures with my phone because I played brotherhood on my PS3. I don't have any PC games except for minecraft-- my computer would probably keel over if I tried to install any more.
I love your tp everything about it is amazing but i agree with the guy who said the ladders could be like the stones at the edges of buildings, this would look really nice on houses even if it would look odd out in the world thats what pickaxes and shovels are for right? Like ive already said your tp is perfect otherwise i absolutely love it especially the little creed symbols on the beds :smile.gif: if i new how to id give you 5/5 diamonds :smile.gif:
[Edit] Ive just seen the aether mod or however you spell it would it be possible for you to make the texturepack aether compatible? so you dont go from lovely texture to same old mc?

I ment the new mod, Aether i think its called its on the homepage i wouldnt mind if it was just the same textures still but there is weapons and things like that in it that would have different textures then the weapons and tools already available in normal MC.

Whoops! Sorry, meant to write aether. I know what you're talking about-- I'm making textures for it right now for one of my other packs.
I really love this texture pack! I'm going to use it as the main texture pack of my custom map, can't wait for the texture pack to be finished completely :biggrin.gif:!

I'll get there eventually, don't worry. :smile.gif:
I can't wait until there is a complete Italian Rennaisance version. that's what I've been looking for, your's has so far been the best. Very well done, keep up the good work.
I'm going to completely revamp the older (and crappier) textures sometime soon, so keep an eye out for that.
Best texturepack ever. I can say those words with complete confidence. More than 3/4 of my server now uses you texturepack. I have reccommended you to everyone I know. Honestly.... You made minecraft look like a thousand times better. I almost could say that i love you.

I know you mean Aether. I think it would be super epic if you modeled it after what you would find in the temples, or make it so it looks like the enviroment from the truth video in Ac 2. You know, all futuristic.
